Unreliable and no reply from customer service. When it works, it has great video... when it works. Sometimes it stops recording 30 seconds after it turns on if it turns on at all. The parking mode keeps coming on and recording leaves moving all night, erasing everything on the memory card. Emailed customer service three times, no response other them telling me there is no way to change the sensitivity of the motion sensor. No reply on any of the other issues.

Got this after two crazies on the road tried fighting me for seemingly no reason. It's awesome. I get a wide enough angle to make sure any weirdo and their foolishness is on camera. It's easy to turn the microphone on and off while still recording so people in the car with me can comfortably talk smack about other people, or about whatever they want with me, without worrying it'll be on camera, but a press of a button will turn the mic on quickly if some crazy person on the road starts threatening and such.Picture quality is great both in cabin and on the road. I got this for a great price as well. Worth it for your own safety. I purchased this with pepper spray too. Let the police handle the crazies on the road. They get a pension for it.

I bought this thing primarily for Uber and Lyft. But, now I have it on pretty much every car I drive. It's a great way to prove your point if anything happens (accident or road issues). It also keeps me from grabbing my phone during driving, because I know this thing is on, I keep away from grabbing my phone to change Pandora stations or whatever. It keeps both front camera and rear camera files separated, and has a very decent built in microphone. Also, the image quality is way better than lots of other dash-cams you get, so if anything would happen and you need details (license plate number for instance), you're probably better off paying the money for this camera vs the cheap dash-cams, because when it truly matters, you get what you pay for.

Great dash camera!Cons: dual video means duel video! When you get the video off the micro card ( not included) there will be 2 folders one for the front video! One for the inside cab video!Pro: Both great quality. 32g space card will hole 2.0 to 2.5 hours at dual 1080p non-stop.If you need to record non-stop get the biggest card avalible for this camera. Formating on the camera works Great!Loop 5 min max otherwise turn it off fill up the card. I fill mine up but i have 32g and its good for 2.0-2.5 hours. Keep that in mind. 1080p dual with audio helps.

I just received my new VanTrue N2 Pro dual dashcam and I like it so far. This has an adjustable internal camera in addition to the external camera. Both are high definition and very good quality. The last dashcam I bought was cheap to save some money, but it only lasted a few weeks. I cannot speak for the durability of this camera yet, but it is clearly much better quality. What I like:· The mount is really positive, it twists to create suction.· Video is very high quality and you can take snapshots· It is highly configurable. You can disable the internal cam, and sound if you like. You can disable display settings and change date format, etc.· There is a parking mode to keep an eye on things while you are away. · It is a compact design and does not obstruct the view. · Internal cam is adjustable, and easily picks up the driver, even when mounted on the passenger side.· Optional GPS would be handy if using this for fleet vehicles or teen drivers, because it shows the speed on the video.Negatives· It could use a slightly larger LCD display, but that is a trade-off for the compact design. It is sufficient for aiming the camera and some basic playback, but certainly not for much detail.· The rear facing camera is great for a picture of the inside of the car, but will not pick up much detail of vehicles behind you, like license plates.This seems like it would be ideal for Uber/Lyft drivers, but is also great for normal drivers who just want to capture the crazy drivers out there.

The camera is of good quality, however The camera keeps resetting date and time to last year! It’s so frustrating because I don’t know when the videos were recorded when I need proof of something. I wish this camera was able to back up online somehow, that way videos would not be erased when needing to look up old videos. The videos are the main reason why I got this camera and y I got the 256gb memory card. This camera is so expensive yet overtime it is continuing to fail me. First the car jack cord (which they replaced) and now this.

Update 12/16/2019 After a few test drives with the N2 Pro with GPS Mount a problem developed. When starting out the GPS Dish icon would appear as clear and then turn orange when locked with the GPS Satellites. When driving down the road at intermittent times the GPS Dish icon would go from Orange to Clear and then sometimes disappear. When this happened all GPS info would disappear from the recorded video. The primary reason I purchased this model was for the GPS Info. The recorded video is great but I needed the Latitude, Longitude and Vehicle Speed. I view the recorded video with a program called DashCam Viewer and Registrator Viewer. After working with the Vantrue Customer Service Team (Especially Helen) the problem was corrected. At first, it was thought it was a faulty GPS Mount. The sent me a new one and the problem did not go away. In the end it turned out to be a bad N2 power supply cord. When the icon disappeared this was the indication that power was lost from the GPS Mount. I was sent a new Power Supply cord and the problem disappeared. I want to commend the Vanture Customer Service Team as they were persistent in discovering the problem and keeping a satisified customer.End of Update ... So in the end the below comments are still relevant.1. Very highly recommended. I would purchase again.2. Setting up is extremely easy. Matter of fact just pop in Micro SD card and set date/time.3. Video quality is great. Tiny LCD is very useful. Cabin camera and Audio recording works well4. The size is really compact, easy to mount on windshield.5. Quick Start guide very informative.6. Get the GPS mount if you need GPS info.7. Dual cameras give you road and cabin video.

Colors are perfect even at night, after the firmware update to v35 all colors went bright, I even recommend this to a friend, I always post videos of my rides in facebook just to let them see how clear the videos are. I highly recommend this product.

Perfect for night driving, the GPS add on is awesome and I love being able to see the license plate with the video. Cabin video is crisp but only intended for cabin, it does not double as a rear view cam.Do note that the sidemount usb not intended for every day use. Make sure you're going through the top mounted power mount, mine came loose so I had to get a replacement, lesson learned.

During the day, the pictures are great. During the night, out the front camera, if there is no light you wont see anything. In the car it has ok night vision. It is easy to hook up and use. Great packaging.

I purchased this product almost purely on all of the positive customer reviews that it has gotten. I am a firm believer in hearing what other customers have to say about a product before I purchase it. I have owned at least 3 or 4 other types of dash cameras previously and found that most were confusing to program or did not live up to my expectations. I am just a retired senior citizen that likes gadgets like this. I am not very "tech minded" so it has to be user friendly to use. I like how small and compact it is. I love the excellent picture quality. The directions are in English and are easy to understand. For what this dash camera cost, it was a good investment. We go on frequent road trips for short vacations and it is reassuring to have a dash cam like this to record what is going on. You never know when "something" may happen. I also like the way that the company periodically checks up on their customers who have bought their products and asks if they are having any problems. I am satisfied.

When it comes to a dashcam there is nothing that currently compares to this one. No, it doesn't have Wifi or some of the connected cloud features that other dashcams have, but what this camera does so well is record both interior and exterior at the same time in exceptional quality.If you are a rideshare driver please don't click on something else as this is significantly cheaper then other solutions, and looks just as good or better.

The manual states that you must format the memory card every couple of weeks. Like everyone, I’m busy, so I forgot to keep formatting it. Guess what? It stopped recording even though it indicates recording. I switched to a different brand camera that doesn’t require continual formatting. Nice camera but not for me.

Compare with my last one, this is Really good dash cam, has high digital clear resolution, high clear voice record. And when it’s nighttime, this cam has totally record the other car’s plate , this is very important when there’s happened accidents. At the same time, I had a suggestion, if there’s 360 degrees cam will be better. Or there’s 3 cam in the same dash cam can also solve this problem.

I just took camera out of box. I was amazed to see this uses the OLD STYLE mini usb 2.0 connector. Fortunately I have old mini usb 2.0 cables. I have a dual usb outlet adapter in power outlet, need a cable with usb connectors on both ends.

I love that there's little and not a massive lag in connection with the camera after clicking the button. I don't like the guidelines for the product and I wish the Vantrue team creates an update to include options for Sedan sized vehicles as soon as possible because the lines are way off for the time being and other customers have expressed their concern on it as well.

Used for half a year or so and was great, got rear ended and this helped out. Fast forward to about a year later, and after getting in another accident where fault was very hard to determine this failed to record anything. Would give zero stars if I could - when I needed it, it does not work. What is the point?Edit: now it says all memory cards are “corrupt” and unusable. This is a useless brick- avoid!

So I’ve been using this camera for Some time now I feel a lot more confident having it in my car and it also will keep you honest and stop signs and red lights and things of that nature my only complaint is the night vision is horrible so if you put the video on your computer looking out the front camera say at other cars the sky and anything that is black sparkles like it has a bunch of white noise in the picture not sure if there’s an update or something to fix this but I mostly drive in the daytime so it does not bother me that bad I do like all the functions that are on the camera and I do like that it has a screen on it so if something was to happen even though the screen is small you were still able to view it or turn it over for evidence I bought the GPS mount with it also and when you have to remove the camera most of the time you pull the mount down with it I wish it had a different attachment system that would make it easier but so far it has been great and has not give me any issues during the summer as an overheating or being too hot I have came out a few times and the camera was laying in the middle of my console Due to the fact that the suction cup released and fell down The inside camera looks great during the daytime and has enough night vision to see at night so if you were an Uber driver this would be an awesome camera to have because it does light up the backseat to and you can adjust the brightness of it it is not color like the front camera is but it’s still a good option to have say if you get pulled over for not having on a seatbelt you have video evidence that you had it on or not on depending on your preference The inside camera looks great during the daytime and has enough night vision to see at night so if you were an Uber driver this would be an awesome camera to have because it does light up the backseat to and you can adjust the brightness of it it is not color like the front camera is but it’s still a good option to have say if you get pulled over for not having on a seatbelt you have video evidence that you had it on or not on depending on your preferenceYou can also turn off the inside camera instead of running two cameras at 10:80 you can run the front camera at a higher resolution

This is a very high quality dash cam. It's construction is solid, it's easy to set up and it's easy to review recorded videos/images. As the pictures show, the camera is minimally obtrusive even if mounted below the rear view mirror. I was able to fully conceal the power cord by placing it under the plastic mouldings without using any tools. Complete install took less than 15 minutes. I also purchased the Samsung 256GB 100MB/s (U3) microsdx EVO Select memory card which works really well with this dash cam. Video is plug and play using the sd slot on my chromebook. Images are crystal clear, including the ability to read license plates on vehicles within a few car lengths (see pic of video freeze frame view on chromebook). Camera captures very wide viewing area. I chose to use front facing camera only setting because I prefer the higher resolution available in that setting and I usually don't need to record interior video. Microphone is one-button on/off. I'll normally keep it off but it's a nice feature to have available if desired (e.g. encounters with law enforcement for traffic stop). Audio playback was also very good.I highly recommend this dash cam.

Having 2 cameras in one helps a lot when you are trying to find the person that keyed your vehicle. I am waiting on them to do it again because I now have this camera in my truck. I have viewed some of the footage from the camera and I like the fact that it is 1080. the night vision is great for the price that I paid for the camera. I am not fond of the software that is used to view the footage but it gets the job done.

We aren't Uber driving but figured if we were putting in a dash cam, we wanted it all... front & rear facing cameras, audio recording, GPS, etc and TheWirecutter steered us towards this Vantrue model. It supports up to 256gb micro SD which we are using as they're so inexpensive these days.The video gives a beautiful picture with 1080p or higher depending on how you set it up. Street signs, license plates, etc are pretty clear to read even at the standard 1080p... better if you disable the cabin video having the camera focus (pun intended) on the front camera only.Night vision is what sold us on the camera as others we've tried have been abysmal. Generally, the outside video remains color as there's adequate light and the interior switches to B&W due to absence of light. In both cases the video is very clear and nearly as legible as daylight recording.We setup in the car using a standard patch cable but supplemented with a power bank battery so the 24 hour motion sensor security is in place. (This allows us to use the security feature without risking the car battery draining if the vehicle sits for an extended period of time.) Since we have the max 256gb card, the cumulative video holds for a long amount of time before overwriting occurs.The add-on GPS mount, only about $21, allows the unit to collect additional data such as location and MPH speed. These are recorded on the dashboard section of the video where other information such as date/time is provided.One thing we'd like to see improved is the mount as the camera gets out of line when bumped. Normally this isn't a problem but sometimes the window sunshade hits in a manner that requires realignment. Fortunately, this is pretty easy as the cabin facing display on the camera shows a good perspective on what's being collected by the camera.

This is my second N2 Pro, as I was impressed by the ease of use, setup, installation and of course video quality that I purchased another. First N2 Pro was a gift from about two years ago that in the beginning I was concerned about the window mount not staying secure causing some road jitter. I contacted customer support about my concerns and they rushed out a replacement mount and some tips on keeping mount secure.The new N2 Pro updated firmware to accept the 128 Gb, of which I was reimbursed for as one of there promotions, has put my mind at ease knowing that there will be plenty of recording space/time, I do have 64 Mb Micro SD as backups. Also note that the mount has been redesigned to lock the camera in place, eliminating the road jitter.Note: G-Sensor, I can’t say, but I strongly suspect this came into play as I was traveling down the freeway and had Bird Strike. Thinking this would have been stored in the Normal directory I searched in that time frame, unable to locate I reviewed the Event directory and low and behold I located and reviewed the footage. I was able to verify that the bird did survive the glancing blow by reviewing the forward and rear-facing camera footage to see that it flew away.The takeaway here is that you can trust in the quality and performance as well as the responsiveness of customer support. I do plan on keeping both N2 Pro’s, updating the firmware on the older and us it in my second vehicle.Vantrue – Thank you for your support and dedication.Chief

This is my third dash cam and the two I used before didn't really help me that much. So I have been search online till I have found this dash cam and I have read reviews that really make me decide to purchase this. I have received the dash camera this morning, and I was really surprise how it was packed. I have tried it on right away ( which I was surprised how easy it was to install on the car) and it have great picture quality and I haven't tried the night vision yet.( which I will do it soon!!! ). Overall this is a great dash cam and I really recommend it!!

I'd say this is one of the best dash cameras available, and at a very reasonable price. I'm definitely recommending it to my local ridesharing drivers group.The only missing feature I could really wish for would be a low-profile adhesive dash-mount kit (GPS, of course), with more degrees of movement available in the ball socket. I drive a 2010 Prius, and the dash is such that it's ideal, for me anyway, to mount a dash camera directly on the center of the dash, rather than on the windshield. Easier for me to reach and operate, and makes for a less obvious installation. An option to mount the camera directly to the dash, without using a full ball-socket mount might be nice too.Pros:· Great quality build.· Excellent color display.· Easy to use and operate.· Excellent hard-wire kit available.· High video quality.· Supports SD cards up to 256 GB.· Very good night vision, both front and cabin.· Very good GPS performance.· Audio quality is excellent.· Very affordable pricing for such high quality.Cons:· 60 fps is only available in front-camera-only mode, that is, the cabin camera is not recording. (60 fps can bring out details, such as license plate numbers, that 30 fps struggles with.) Because of this, I gave picture quality 4 stars instead of 5.· GPS is external, that is, requires an optional GPS mount (possibly available at no charge). This may not really be a "con", because this design probably results in being able to use a better GPS antenna than if the antenna was internal, and may be one reason why GPS performance is so good.· Cabin camera infrared lighting is adequate, but it would be nice if the coverage was a little wider. Because of this, I gave night 4 stars instead of 5.· The GPS mount information mentions downloading the VANTRUE CAM PLAYER from the Vantrue website, but there's no player specifically listed for the N2 Pro. I'm hoping that the player listed for the other Vantrue models that use the same GPS mount will work, but I haven't tried it yet.

Not the best night vision.About Vantrue:Vantrue lost my first order, I had to cancel and re-order as they couldn’t do it. I used to work for Grainger Industrial supply, if we lost an order we would ship the customer their product overnight free of shipping charges. I make travel videos for a living and have used several different dash cams. The Vantrue N2 Pro is by far the best I have ever used. Easy to install and excellent picture quality. I especially like how easily it detaches from the windshield mount. I find it much easier to remove the entire camera when I need to access my files rather than deal with those small micro SD cards.

Well I tried it out for a year. ( Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam Dual 1920x1080P Front and Inside Dash Camera )I was happy with the purchase and delighted with the dash cam. I was smart and purchased the Vantrue Dash Cam 10ft Mini USB 12V 24V to 5V Dash Cam Hardwire Kit at the same time, it frees up the power outlet. Then I purchased the Vantrue N2 Pro, N2, T2, R3, X3 Dash Cam GPS Receiver Module Mini USB Port Car Suction Cup Mount. With this gps mount, you can check vehicle location/speed/route on Map through Vantrue Player Software. The player software is a free download from Vantrue's web site. I uploaded a screen shot for the player. Add one video or a group. Shows speed, date , GPS numbers, Time Stamp and a map of your location. Very happy with my purchases .The biggest ISSUE is that you have to Purchased the GPS mount and Hardwire kit if you want all of the full functions of the camera. It should at least come with a 256 GB Micro SD Card....

I did a lot of research on Dash cams before deciding on this one. I'm so glad I bought this one. This camera is fantastic! I bought this hard wire kit for it and it worked out great! https://www.Vantrue.net/ the hard wire kit parking mode is enabled so it senses any motion and starts recording. It will also record any impact so if someone hits your car and drives off (like what happened to me before I got this camera) you will be able to get their license plate. Another thing I found awesome about this camera is it automatically goes into parking mode when you park and exits parking mode once you start driving. The bottom line is the camera is the best! Buy it, you won't regret it!

Bought this for my girlfriend's car, she always wanted a dashcam and finally got one. We bought this during prime day and got it $100 cheaper, this was a win win. It works great, turns on everytime the camera is on. Ever since she bought and installed this dash cam she hasn't ran into many bad drivers and even if she does she has this cam to use for evidence. Definitely recommend this product! 10/10

The only bad thing I can say is that when it gets really hot inside the vehicle it sometimes falls off the windshield. Besides that it's a great picture both forward and back. Be sure to buy a memory card to increase recording time.

This camera is a great improvement over two previous dashcams I've used in the past.Image is sharp and it's never failed even after being exposed to hot Fla. sun.I especially like being able to unplug it from the windshield mount when using a solar reflective windshield screen.

Use this for Ubering. love most of it . good quality camera etc.. only bad thing is the suction cup is bad it fell down every 10 minutes when the weather get too hot or too cold.

bought the camera 7 months ago, bought base on good reviews on here and youtube videos. though after 7 months it started to give me issues would not record or erase the old videos. Contacted Customer support and got my camera replace with a new one in a few days. i would definitely buy from this Vantrue again and a would also recommend this to anyone that is looking for a dash cam for their vehicle.

This was my first purchase of a dual dash cam. The quality of the recordings is very clear and crisp. The rear facing camera captures crisp detail within the car. The audio is very good. Perfect for rideshare jobs. I took a chance on this one and I'm glad I did.

I've used this camera for about a year now and I can say I am over all very happy with it. The picture is good, the video is smooth, and the drunks I Uber about seem to behave a little better. The night vision is pretty good the front camera, but the range is limited as you would expect. The IR for the interior camera is prefect for the front seat and is strong enough for a second-row back seat. If you have a third-row back seat it might be a little dim, but I think it would still be functional. This is probably the most useful and important thing I have bought while driving for Uber.The rear view of the interior camera is mostly limited to the interior of the car, so if you need to record what’s going on behind your car, you will want a second camera or get a camera with a remote rear camera. That said, this is exactly what I expected so for me this is not a problem.The only issue I have had is that the battery died, Vantrue's customer support sorted it out quickly and got me a replacement. They do use a lipo for the battery so you will want to try not to discharge it all the way (lipo's don't like being bellow 30%) and if you are in a hotter climate you may want to look into a dash cam with a high temp. resistance capacitor rather than a battery.I do recommend getting a hardwire kit if you feel comfortable doing so, and the GPS mount is another good buy.

For a $200 dash cam you should get wifi or Bluetooth conectivity. I been using it for 8 moths and looking to replace it. I got into a car accident and took me a long time to show the police what had actually happen. You should be able to pull out your phone and have the video ready for the police to see.Also is true that there is something wrong with color black it looks purple.

Frequently reset, lost of current date setting . Did not loop recording as well. Must monitor setting on daily basic to be working properly. I got into some incidents and did not able to look up recording. Totally wasted money,

I will give it an 'ok' for picture quality and audio.Beyond that there are too many issues to give it anything more than one star. A week into owning the camera a piece of the mount broke off, camera still latched on so I let it go.The bright blue LED on the power plug is both a good thing (pretty easy to see if the power is on or not) and a bad thing because at night or in the morning that HUGE BRIGHT blue light is rather annoying. I usually toss a rag over it to block most of it, a piece of heat shrink tube with a small hole will take care of that. The power cable is just typical junk quality pvc wire, flexible when warm and stiff when not.The issue that makes me ding this camera hard is the issue of it just turning itself off and/or resetting itself. Incoming power is always there (bright blue led on the power plug). when shutting down I turn off the camera first and then pull the 12v plug so the camera will not be drawing off the battery for those couple seconds. Yet about once a week it manages to kill the battery somehow and I go through and reset the date/time stamp. To make this clear whenever I have the camera powered on it is ALWAYS plugged into a power source, there is no reason it should kill the battery. This camera gets used every single day (always plugged in) so is the battery that crappy all the sudden that it self discharges overnight ? I do not always catch that until later on when reviewing the recordings and see the date/time stamp is screwed up again... When you are counting on that video to prove yourself not at fault and the time/date stamp gets all jacked up that is a HUGE issue here.And more recently it has started to turn itself off at random, power is always there yet it manages to just power off and leave you running blind. To the point of now having the screen always on so I can instantly see if everything is still recording. I have the camera mounted up and almost behind my rear view mirror so the mirror can block most of the screen light and distraction but still be visible by ducking your head down slightly.For the price this thing gets, a model from the competition can do better.Edited for 2021. The battery degraded enough to the point it would no longer self power the unit at all about 6 months ago. It would still work if plugged in, about a week ago it totally died. Completely dead and gone.

I purchased this camera to provide in car video and basic speed and position recording in legal high speed racing events. The video quality is excellent and operation is simple. The only problem I experienced was with the GPS. GPS speed and position worked perfectly at any speed under 124 mph. Once this speed was exceeded, speed and position data was lost until speed dropped below 124. Sadly, due to the speeds involved, it was not possible to identify the problem prior to the first race where it was used. I had planned to use it to prove top speed, which was somewhere in excess of 160 mph. Customer support has been excellent. Happily, they confirmed that other customers were able to utilize the GPS speed and position data until speeds reached 200 mph. They identified that I have a defective GPS unit and are shipping me a replacement. Hopefully, it will properly record speed and position at speeds about 124 mph in the next race. If not for the GPS issue, I would give this camera 5 stars. It has performed flawlessly at any speed that would typically be legal on public roads.

Checked the video and realized it stopped loop recording 3-4 months back. Stopped working as soon as warranty ended. Also the the suction cup used to loose the grip during summers if left the car outside.

Amazing product! The video and audio quality on the N2 Pro is great and I’ve actually convinced a couple of my friends to buy this dash cam. I originally ordered mine in June along with the hardwire kit (which was really easy to install). Unfortunately after 3 months the battery stopped holding charge. Not sure if it was just a random defect, but I contacted Vantrue Support. They were incredibly helpful and quick to respond! After some trouble shooting, they replaced my dash cam at no cost. The replacement is working great and I still highly recommend the N2 Pro!
