So, after about a week of usage, the cabin facing camera no longer takes regular footage, it is always in Infrared. Also, the swivel used to adjust the position of the camera is very loose and causes the dash cam to move whenever I stop, speed up, or take a turn, and also causes it to automatically lock the video due to the gravity change. I'm giving two stars for now because I do like the quality of the videos taken, however, if I were to get into an accident, I don't want the camera position to somehow change at the last second and cause the camera to not record necessary information. It looks like there were a few other reviews detailing this flaw. I'll probably be returning this because I fear that if I were to brake hard and get into an accident, the camera would swivel to a point that might not record everything, which would mean I paid $200 for nothing.

Everytime the car moves the camera swings there's no way to tighten it. Pretty annoying.UPDATE: After I posted this review I was contacted by Sandy and she told me they were aware of the problem so they redesigned themount. Well they sent me the NEW mount and they did an amazing job. Not only is the mount TIGHT this time butit's on a ball so it swivels which is a GREAT feature to have!Customer service was great, they followed though which is what you expect from a reputable company.

I think this is the best dash cam on the market. It was very easy to set up and format the memory card. Has everything I need including front and rear facing cam with a motion sensor. Hooked it up to Mac dest top and very easily looked at last several drives on screen. With several close call driving incidents in the last year I’m sure I’ll need the video evidence some day. Update: May 16, 2018. Today I was rear ended, so not a good day. I brought my camera in the house, after I finally made it home, to see the footage. It didn't record the footage! I'm so bummed. Thankfully none of us were hurt or I didn't need the footage as proof. I had plenty other videos on my camera, from non accidents but this let me down when I needed it. Maybe it's from the faulty window mount, that still just swings around loosely.Good camera but the window mount isn't stable. Camera swings back and forth while driving. I even bought a replacement mount and same thing is happening. I would blame the hot Phoenix weather but it's not summer time yet.

The vantrue N2 Pro dash cam is a very nice camera with a good picture both inside and outside. If looking for a higher resolution you can opt out of rear camera view and just use the front camera. Overall the camera has a good picture but the only issue I had using the rear camera was in night view and had some white striation marks on it so they sent a new one but it had it too.

i love it.... the picture and sound quality are amazingly good.i just wish that there was an option for either cloud based storage and/or the capability for a larger SD cardbeing that the max card size the camera can handle is only 64gb... as a cab driver driving 12-14 hours a day i lose a lot of thethe earlier parts of the day on the SD card with the card being over written for space

Let's just say, it's not what its cracked up to be. I haven't even had the chance to install yet because there are things they dont mention.1. Mini USB - WHO STILL USES THIS???2. Hardwire kit not included. - So had to wait another week while this arrived.3. Hardwire kit requires splicing - did not want to do this, had to order a fuse tap adapter - had to wait another few days for this.4. No SD card includedI have the parts now, however at this point I think i might just cut my losses and sell this, and get one that is much simpler to install and one that comes with the parts needed.

Excellent video quality camera with some great featuresUpdate 1/5/2021:I had the original camera replaced under warranty a year after purchasing due to a faulty battery that was causing the last video file to be corrupt before turning it off, now the replacement camera has the same problem and it's no longer under warranty. Horrible battery life for a dashcam of this price. Look somewhere else if you're looking for a reliable dashcam you can trust in case of an accident.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I use it for two reasons. The first was to prevent the results, which happened once before, which was that I got into a vehicle accident 110% caused by another driver. A “witness” said it was my fault. If I had this camera at the time I could have used it to record what the “witness” said was my fault and shoved the video in the cops face, sending the “witness” on his merry blind way. Secondly, I drive for Uber. The interior and front view cameras assure my safety against frivolous accusations, if one was to occur. It adds to my safety. Well worth the money!

The only reason I'm writing this review is because I was bribed with a 'GPS Dashcam mount' upgrade to write this review.I purchased the Vantrue N2 Pro to replace my old dual camera system. After watching several YouTube reviews on this camera I knew it was exactly what I was looking for in a dashcam. The high quality forward facing camera produces crystal clear video and the rear facing cabin camera provides the detail necessary to capture events inside the car. The added feature of night vision in the cabin was what sold me. As a night time ride-share driver it is CRITICAL to have audio and video evidence should I need it to protect myself or my passengers. This Vantrue N2 Pro dashcam will provide me great comfort knowing I have all my surroundings recorded should I require to need it.UPDATE 7/31/18 - I have been battling with China based customer service since April 19th now to get this unit replaced. The dashcam would only function if the power was plugged directly into the dashcam and not routed through the mount. I requested a replacement dashcam but after repeated back and forth emails and several days they sent me a replacement mount instead. The mount did not fix the problem, After repeated back and forth emails and several days they requested that I VIDEO RECORD MYSELF PLUGGING IN THE POWER TO THE MOUNT AND THEN INTO THE CAMERA. Yes a video recording. After repeated back and forth emails and several days they agreed that was stupid. After repeated back and forth emails and several days They said they wanted to send me a NEW VERSION MOUNT. I insisted that the problem was with the GPS and not the mount. They said they check and tell me to wait 3 more days. After several more days still no mount. They tell me to wait 3 more days. After repeated back and forth emails and several more days I'm writing this updated review. The product is great, the cam works like a champ. The original version of the mount sucks and wobbles. The updated mount, if you can get one, works well and allows you to tighten the resistance on the joint. The customer service I have received is that of a third world country with dial-up internet. This is just OK. You get what you pay for. It does not have the best quality but works very well for what it is used for. I mainly use it while I drive for UBER. The dual cam set up is awesome. Day shots looking forward has some quality issues as the wide angle captures too much light making all other objects look dark and lose quality. The lens isn't that great. This setup is best used for mid day and night time uses. The night vision is great and the cabin camera works well at anytime of day. The 4k option is useless and unneeded. Buy the FHD version only to save some $$.

This thing is compact and solid. Because its size is small, it is unobtrusive. Picture is great and as an Uber driver, its reassuring to have an 'independent witness' should anything go wrong. Like others, the one design update it could use is where the plug is, but, i was still able to hide the cord in the headliner. Great Product.

I bought this for both an in-cabin and outside dash-cam because I drive for uber; mostly at night. The camera works great for both inside and outside. I am not sure what people do not like about the night mode because it works good enough for me. I have a 2016 Kia Sorento with a 3rd row and the camera picks up the people and conversation all the way in the far back.I bought the GPS mount to go with it. Unfortunately, I did not receive the GPS mount in the box. I contacted Vantrue and they were excellent. Cathy responded to my email within a few hours, and she shipped me the correct mount. I got it 2 days. Thank you Vantrue!

The audio and video quality are awesome but the holder fell off in 3 hours. I was driving on an interstate and it just fell off. I'm going to have to buy a strong double sided tape to hopefully solve this.

I had to format the sd card about 10 times using the dash cam for it to finally start working properly. for the price, this dash cam is definitely not worth buying. I'd rather get one that you can view through your phone. its funny how it will record but will say incorrect format when playing back on the dash cam itself. Save yourself the time and hassle and get something else. I also bought the gps mount, not exactly sure it is even working.

This is my second Vantrue dash cam. Nice quality video. The only thing I dislike about this model is that I'm not able to turn off the rear camera option. Having said that, it does allow me to rotate the rear camera so that it doesn't point at the passenger compartment.

Its a $200 dashcam. The picture quality isn't all that great for that kind of money. The quality in the daytime is okay but the quality of the image at night or low-light situations it not good at all. I have updated to the latest firmware and the issues with image quality remain. Because its changing with the lighting I don't think its a defective product but rather just not good at adjusting to the lighting situation. Image ranges from decent on bright sunny days, washed out looking on cloudy days, to very grainy at night time. Another complaint I have is with the mount that came with the dash cam. The mount is designed in such a way that the camera is not as close to the windshield as I would like. VanTrue did offer to send me an adhesive mount but I really don't want to put adhesive on my windshield as I would rather use a suction-cup type mount. Like the title says I really expected more for my money with this dash cam and I am slightly disappointed with what I got.

I already own the Vantrue X3 on my other vehicle and so it was a no brainer to go with their product again for my other car. This time I went with the N2 pro. The cam works flawlessly with all the features and their new mirror mount work great! The only draw back is if using this mounting system you cannot use their GPS unit attachment, but its not a deal breaker. A cleaner installation is more important for my needs.

I am not an uber driver, I bought this cam because I wanted to have some visibility to the rear of the car, which isn’t that good. Overall this camera is one of my top favorites. However the suction cup makes it to bulky to put on and take off every time i get in and out of the car. Night vision to the front camera was, in my opinion, not the best I’ve seen. But overall, for the price, it is an amazing dash cam!

Update+Customer service is excellent after some troubleshooting and a replacement GPS the dash cam works awesome.Been using this for about two weeks. It seems to cut on and off here and there but the final straw for me was the GPS. About 50 hours of video, not one single time does it show anything other than 0 mph.

I shopped and read and researched dash cams for over a year. I purchased 3 different kinds. This one is great. Clear picture, clear night vision, mini HDMI capability, audio recording and recording of interior and exterior. The only "con" is no app capability. But let's be honest. My other 2 have app capability and I domt really use it because I am driving when using the dash cams. It's hard not to smash into someone if you're stuck watching your phone to operate your camera. I've had this for about a month now and I could not be happier. It's a great investment. Follow their instructions and format your SD card every couple weeks. Hands down the best. I highly recommend this and wish I had purchased this a long time ago!

I'm a strong believer of installing dash cam in my car, especially after I got into an accident and it recorded the whole incident and thus I was able to prove to the insurance company it was the other party's fault. My previous dash cam only records the drive, not the interior of the car. However, I've recently got into ride sharing gig and since I'll be picking up strangers, for safety purposes I've decided to purchase this dual dash cam. Set up was easy and not only was the picture extremely clear, so is the audio. The infrared camera works well at night that even in dark conditions, you can still see the interior of the car clearly. This is a great investment!

Although I have only had this dash cam for a week now, I like it so much that I thought I would write the review already. From the packaging to the ease of use right out of the box, it has been a simple to use dash cam from the beginning. The picture and sound quality are great. The way it connects to your computer so that you can see the videos is also very easy. I would highly recommend this dash cam to my family and friends.

Great picture. Overall very good product. Can not mount on window because of window angle. Inserting micro sd is difficult because it must be inserted below the surface to get it to lock in. Must use a tool to get it to seat. Same to remove it.

I bought this dash cam primarily because of the parking mode, but I’m very happy with it overall. I had a bit of a struggle getting it hardwired because I had to go through the firewall, but it was well worth it. If you’re going to hardwire it, make sure you purchase the connection kit as well.The camera is well-made and the picture quality is excellent. Even the packaging is top quality. The screen is a bit small. Positioning of the in-cabin and outside cameras are independently adjustable. I highly recommend it.

**12/4/2019** Since updating the Firmware my camera seems to be working very well now. Vanture's customer service was very good in helping me with this problem and even sent me a new cord. Updated from 2-5 stars.My unit stops working randomly and must be unplugged for 5-10 secs before it will start working again. I have the GPS mount with the OBD-II power cord. This makes for a very clean install. When the camera works, it is nice. But I have to continually check it to see if its on. I'd hate to be involved in an accident and have this thing miss it. Right now I simply do not trust it.

My so bought me this Dash Cam for Christmas. I couldn't wait to start using it. Easy set up. I was so happy to enjoy using this dash cam. The dual camera's are awesome, front and rear, and the sound is clear inside the car. The night vision is as clear as the day vision. This Cam has many wonderful features. I plan to order and install the fuse link hardware which hooks into the car's fuse panel. I love the long wires, which makes it easy to connect to your cig lighter no matter the size of your car. I would recommend this Dash cam to all my friends. I'll grade this 100% 5 STARS

Works as advertised but mounting cup won't stick to windshield fritReviewed in the United States
The only reason I downgraded my rating to four stars, was the fact that the mount does not have an option to use double sided sticky tape to stick to a rough windshield. My car, a Toyota Prius, has window frit in a fairly large area behind the rear view mirror. The cup will not maintain a vacuum when placing over this area to make it as unobtrusive as possible. I got around this by using a round plastic smooth plate and sticking it to the windscreen with 3M tape. Then the suction cup was stuck to this plate.

I've used mine for several months now. The picture quality is terrific for the price. One of my vehicles has an exhaust that needs replaced, but you can still easily understand conversations on the playback.I only had one issue with it, but that was quickly rectified by Vantrue customer service. The front lens cracked, which was causing lens flare. Kelly at Vantrue responded to my email, and sent me another for just the cost of return shipping. If not for a delay by USPS (gov't shutdown?), it would probably have been replaced within a week.

I had a small issue with the mount after a few months and when i contacted the seller they sent a replacement asap and even upgraded me to a better style mount with GPS locator. I would definitely purchase another or recommend every one to get one. It makes me happy to see a seller stand behind their product

I rideshare part time and have wanted one for quite some time. It's better to safe guard myself against things both on the outside and inside of my vehicle. The best feature of this cam is the interior has IR tech so that the video shows when it's dark out. Which if you drive at night you get a idiot passenger every once in while! The day time image/videos are very crisp. All in all this is a good investment!

There's been a couple times it fell off the glass and the timestamp seems to reset each time you start the car, but it's good sound and video. I bought it for Uber and my own protection in general, never ended up driving for Uber, but it did catch me hitting a deer.

I don't need to tell you this camera has a lot of features; if you've made it this far in your research, you've seen the extensive listing! And while I like many of the things this camera does, there is a critical function that it lacks.This camera will not record anything once the power is disconnected!Why is that important? Let's paint a picture.You've spent $200 on this camera, and you've got the whole thing installed. You were careful to read and understand the directions on page 19 that say this camera should not be run continuously for more than 10 hours. Out of the box, it comes with a power port (cigarette lighter) adapter, and you know your car's power port shuts down when the car turns off. So you stuff the adapter into the power port and off you go!Sadly, you are involved in an accident not 15 miles from your home: Somebody turned into your lane right in front of you, and you were unable to stop in time! Your vehicles collide, and the momentum forces you into another lane where you are hit by a second car!Thankfully, no one is hurt, but the second driver claims you crossed into his lane, and that secondary collision is your fault. No worries, you think: You have the footage from your new Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam that will prove your innocence!When you return to your car, you are horrified to see that the power port adapter was dislodged from the force of the initial impact. That means the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam ceased all operations at that moment, taking the following 5 seconds of its tiny battery's life to gracefully stop recording and save all settings as it powered down. Only now do you recall the admonishment from page 10 of the manual where it says, "The camera will power OFF 5 seconds after you turn off the car engine."Rewind two days, to the moment you bought this thing on Vantrue. At that point, you could have also bought the Vantrue Dashcam Hardwire Kit (ASIN: B07G9WTWB9), and that would have retained power to the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam with no danger of the power port adapter being dislodged. Except...Using the Vantrue Dashcam Hardwire Kit would mean that every time you got into the car, you'd have to manually turn on the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam. And every time you got out of the car, you'd have to manually turn off the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam. No forgetting is allowed - at the top of page 19 (in bold type), it says, "We do not recommend running the camera continuously for more than 10 hours."There are other dash cams that continue to record for a short period of time after power to the unit is lost. The ROAV, for example, will continue to record for a full minute after power is lost before shutting down.If you're installing a dash cam to protect you from liability in case of an accident, the ability to continue recording after the initial impact may be important to you. In that case, you should choose a different camera. But if you're installing a dash cam to protect you from liability in case your Uber passenger says you tried to rob them, then should be a great camera for you!One other thing: This Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam only comes with a suction cup mount. After a time, you WILL find the camera dangling from its cord! What I'd like is for Vantrue to come out with a glue-on mount; then once the best position is determined, the camera can be secured without fear of its falling off...either from heat or impact!

Received camera and was ready for use very quickly. Need to remember to format your micro SD card to Fat32, not hard, but that is the only thing that slowed me down. Installed very easily on my window. It has a wide view of everyone in my car. I can record all converstion and actions of my passengeres. I absolutely love having this camera. All the features are easy to setup in the menus. After the initial charging of the device, I installed with the hardwire kit and haven’t had any issues. I love that it has IR for the interior camera and that it has a parking mode (sentry). The only thing I wish it could do that it doesn’t is to record in 1440p on the front camera while keeping the ability to record the interior, but I imagine that has more to do with the write speeds to the memory card. I’m using a Samsung 256GB Evo micro SD and no problems installing or formatting via the camera.Picture quality is excellent, even with the sun on the horizon. Sentry mode is awesome when you need it. Great exterior and interior video at night!

So my initial review was bad, I thought the camera died when it was just the power cord burned out. Ok so the camera works great. It has lasted a year, I’m please with it. Suction cup pretty good but if you park in the sun all hot weather it may fall off the window. Customer support helped send me the new part support@vantrue.net.

Well made & sturdy, protect yourself against false, malicious, or frivolous claims of bad, inappropriate, or illegal behavior. Get a 256GB chip, and a large external hard drive, and transfer the video into a different file on the hard drive EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE FOR Lyft or Uber!

This camera is awesome! I do Uber and decided to have something to cover myself if things get ugly, and for the most part I couldn’t ask for a better product.Pros:The video quality is excellent, including at night, both for front and back. The overwrite technology is useful because you can essentially set it and forget it. It’s easy to take videos off the camera and to save important ones with just a push of the button. Parking mode means it turns on if there’s activity near the car.Cons: It doesn’t come with an SD card, which has to be bought separately. A 64GB card (which only stores about 3 hours of continuous video) will run you $23 at Target, adding to the already hefty price.The audio quality could be better. It’s not terrible by any means, but it’s hard to hear conversations recorded in the car unless you turn video volume way up. For this much money they should’ve engineered the mic better.Still, I would recommend this to anyone who needs a dash cam.
