It’s just perfect, I didn’t expect this quality from this tiny little camera, I would give it 10 starts not 5

I got one I spent 200 and something on. I made a review on the other but I left something out. So these things you need an SD card, you'll have to keep it plugged in and charging. This thing can charge all night long you take it off it says goodbye. I'm OTR I need a reliable camera that would catch any and everybody tampering with my truck or someone else's truck. It only records 5 to 10 minutes, and that really sucks. For what it's worth I want all the bells and whistles.

Between the overhyped leaders and the overhyped knockoffs, there is an undersold (in the sense of widespread praise) contender worth your hard-earned dollar--Vantue's N4 3-ch Capacitor/OBD-ready dash cam.First, a word about OBD-ready dash cams. It is utterly insane that dash cam manufacturers advertise Parking Mode--knowing full well it won't work out of the box; and then push consumers wanting to use Parking Mode to hardwire the dash cam into the vehicle fuse box. The fuse box can get you electrocuted and fry your vehicle's electronics. IT IS NOT A DIY PROJECT. AND IT IS PARTICULARLY INSANE WHEN they could just provide the plug-n-play experience consumer's expect by providing a cable to the OBD2 port. Vantrue walked a fine line: while they too lead with fine print telling you some features require hardwiring to the vehicle's fuse box, they did design their dash cam to work with the OBD2 port and sold separately the cable to for that. It is because I learned of the OBD2 port option from AutoFun (on YouTube), that I went looking for a OBD-ready dash cam. And IT WORKS.So in a nutshell, if you're going to have suffocating heat burn through your windshield, then you need a capacitor because a lithium ion battery might fail catastrophically. If you're going to use Parking Mode, then you're going to want an OBD2 port option. And if you're going to install a dash cam at all, then you need 3 channels: one to record who brake checked you; one to see who nudged up behind you; and the interior cam to prove you had your seatbelt on and who walked up on your vehicle to key it.Vantrue's N4 checks all those boxes. What it is missing is an app: to avoid clicking through it's annoying menus; and to receive alerts. But those are luxuries in contrast to the capacitor, OBD2 port option and 3-chs.

Easy install and good quality picture

I live in Arizona and I don't know if the rear camera was built well enough to withstand our heat or it just failed because of a defect. I purchased the camera in July 2020 and the rear camera failed 10 months later. The front camera works well but the suction device is worthless. It drops after two or three weeks of use. Cleaning the windshield really well with alcohol did not prevent it from continually dropping against my dash.

I recently had rotator cuff surgery and installed this unit byself in a 2006 P. T. Crusier. Just follow the instructions. You will need to drill a hole in the firewall for the constant power supply, because the fuse box is in the engine compartment. It's tight quarters under the dash, especially with only one arm. My car is automatic trans, so I removed the clutch pedal blank plate, held on by 2x10mm Nuts. I then was able to drill a 1/4" hole through it. I ran the wire to the outside , passed it through the hole, the used 15" needle nose pliers to reinstall the blank plate, the bolts are attached the plate, so pretty basic, then reapplied the nuts under the dash. There's plenty of wire with the constant power kit, so no worries. The fuse box is right there and you will need to file an 1/8-1/4 where the lid clamps into place.

What's not to like about this dashcam. Choose how you want to look at the main screen, rear view, front view or cab view. Very easy to install.

This worked fine until after I could return it to Vantrue. Now, it has started turning off and on every 30 seconds or so. I am going to try online help and see if that gets me anywhere.

So, I have purchased four of these cameras over the past two years and I can't say enough good things about the quality of the cameras as well as their customer service. The cameras record excellent video and I especially like the time lapse option to minimize the battery drain. Customer service has always been professional, quick to respond and have provided me with optional parts (suction cup replacements) without cost. Highly recommended!

This dash cam is compact and incredibly well manufactured. The picture quality is great on all three angles and it is easy to switch the main view from one to another. Boxed contents include a wide array of connection options. I have not yet used it at night so I’ll have to edit this review when I do.

I love the camera and its versatility but, we sadly had the pull the sd card the veiw footage of a minor accident when we went to replace the sd card it wont read it and keeps ejecting it, ive had various dash cams including a rexing for over 3 years which still works fine but i wanted something less "dated" technology wise. So thats why i reduced a star otherwise it works well but now ill need to replace this camera ive barley had 2 mo.

It’s a great product. I wished this dash cam came with the hard wire kit or a integrated battery that lasted at least 12 hours because just as it is it won’t record unless driving or car is running. MAKE SURE TO TEST ITS RECORDING BY INSERTING THE MEMORY CARD TO A COMPUTER. My dash cam did not record but audio. Fixed it by formatting the memory card twice then it worked. Will be pointless to install it, get in a wreck the. Realize it’s not recording.

This camera comes in a fantastic package and looks impressive and is VERY easy to set up and honestly way faster to install than you would think. The only issue is that the rear camera doesn't work / freezes up. I'm inclined to think its some kind of firmware issue rather than a hardware issue because occasionally the camera will unfreeze for a few seconds but then it freezes again for 10+ minutes at a time.Honestly if Vantrue had a customer service number and they could guide me through a way to fix this I'd at least give 4 stars because I'm sure this product works for other people but since I have no way of getting any support for this issue I simply have to RMA the whole thing and just buy a different product.Good luck to you if you decide to buy this - hopefully your unit isn't broken on arrival like mine. Keep in mind there IS NO customer service phone number for this company.

Excellent camera by itself but comes with a rear window camera. Nice display, easy to setup and run. The front camera is actually two cameras in one with one facing forward the other towards the back. This alone gives you plenty of visible coverage for the car but you also get a dedicated rear window camera to make coverage of viewable area more than 360 degrees. All three views will be on screen at once (windowing) and each can be toggled as the primary view. The camera has various modes but parking mode requires power when the car is off. A separate wiring kit is available on Vantrue to address this situation, using a fuse that has power at all times (both key on and off).An alternate solution for parking mode power is to get a high capacity battery (26000mah or better). Of course this is a last resort but if you only use motion sensor and parking mode, the external battery might be your answer.Of course if you’re using the camera for normal (power on) conditions, the supplied cables should work fine. A USB toUSB C and a cigarette lighter adapter are supplied. Of course, the camera has all the bells buttons and whistles to make recording your driving an enjoyable experience. Of course its best and most important function is to record an accident or the infamous “parking lot” type of event, such as malicious mischief or someone running into your parked car…ouch. Nice to have a recording of the event and with luck a license plate number or visual I. D. !!!

I started having trouble using this camera and after contacting support, they really paid attention and got me solutions for all my problems! I'm a very happy customer now! Thank you Vantrue!

We had a family member involved in an accident where the driver fled the scene and we wanted to feel more secure that if this were to happen to us we would have evidence. Thankfully, this still has not happened but we really feel better with this dash cam! Great resolution - very easy to install, and there have been no issues pulling video. I am so happy with this purchase!

suction cup sucks, falls off all the time. otherwise nice camera and good video quality.

I really, really wanted this dash cam to work. It had good reviews online, over 2,700 Vantrue reviews when I bought it, with a 4.5 star rating. I also have several stalkers actively harassing me, and so far their minimally invasive measures have been enough to keep the police from arresting them. I've bought dash cams in the past, but they only showed the straight ahead vantage point, and I was lucky if I could get a single license tag number off of the footage, much less a face to prove anything. This dash cam seemed to be exactly what I've wanted for the past 20 years, but then the first one I ordered had issues, then the replacement had issues. The first unit's rear view camera didn't work, and neither did parking mode unless the camera was physically moved to wake it up. And yes, that's with motion detection on, which means it's supposed to record when it sees motion. I called Vantrue support to see how to get the rear camera to work, but there wasn't anything else I could try -- it's just the one cable. And so Vantrue ordered a replacement which came quickly. Meanwhile I'd asked a question of the Vantrue community about how to get the rear camera to work, and someone said that the one cable sort of snaps into place. Well, I tried that and was actually able to get the rear camera to work, although the original unit's cables didn't snap together and you had to moosh them together pretty hard to get it working, which didn't seem right. The new unit did work with the rear camera, and the cable did snap in. There were little plastic notches in both cable ends to sort of guide you as to the orientation, and you had to be sure that they fit together to fit it in right. But then... after I set the resolution to the highest setting, the new unit stopped recording. I had footage of me putting the new dash cam in the window and changing its settings, but nothing after that when I got home. This was disappointing, as there was something happening along the road that night that the police would have appreciated seeing. And so I wondered whether it was because I hadn't connected the rear camera yet, or if the thing just doesn't record on the higher resolutions. And so I went about testing the camera after the rear camera was hooked up at different resolutions. I was able to get some footage, but the kicker is, the camera apparently lost my time setting, and so the 1st and 2nd round of tests are hard to figure out and I have to redo them. I can't say yet whether this 2nd dash cam is going back to Vantrue or not. However, the parking mode does work better on the newer unit, though probably not well enough to prove it if a stalker is driving past my house 10 times a day. And I noticed something about the night vision in the new unit -- it seems to work via infrared, because you could see a part of my bra's outline in one of the interior videos I reviewed. I was wearing a dark blue shirt at the time with a printed image on it that made it impossible to see my bra under regular light. However with this dash cam's night vision, you could see the straps and upper part of the bra well enough to know it was there. That's if you turn on the cabin footage, which unfortunately I need to do because sometimes one of my stalkers breaks into the van and spends a lot of time there. Though he'd probably take the chip out and erase it, knowing his past history. (That's an issue mentioned by another reviewer -- the footage stays on a chip in the dash cam until you remove/replace it, it isn't uploaded to the cloud, though it generates so much footage that an upload wouldn't be practical. That means if someone smashes your windows to steal something, if they notice the dash cam and steal that, too, then you've lost your footage of the break-in.)I also ended up buying the VanTrue brand chips because it had a high capacity and is fast enough to handle video.Overall, I'd say that the quality of the electronics is iffy, but if you can get the features to work, it's great. I'm looking forward to hooking up my laptop to the big screen TV to see how many license tags I can read that way. I also saw a man who looked like one of my stalkers while the thing was running, and I want to find that footage to see if I can prove he was there. This thing just might help me get a restraining order and scare those guys off! If it can do that, it'll be worth all the money and trouble to get it to work, and then some.

The power cable attaches above the suction cup.The back camera cable attaches on the left side of the front/cabin camera.I initially had issues getting the back camera to work, but realized I had put the power supply in the wrong location as they have the same size and shape plug. Attaching the power cable on the side will power the front/cabin camera.

Bought this after a fairly brief look at online comparisons. Installed this system in a 2016 extra long MB Sprinter based RV. Suction mount reasonably secure. Rear camera mounts with UHB tape, and they include an extra piece if you want to move it. Setup was trivially easy. Video quality is good. Video is *not* 4k on the front camera unless you run it by itself; best you can do with all three cameras running is 1440p front and 1080p cabin and rear at 30 fps. That resolution is, however, more than adequate for anything I want to do with the camera. Files are stored time stamped, in mp4 format, with an 'A', 'B', or 'C' at the end of the file name to indicate which camera it came from. Event recorder is a little touchy with factory setting, which is OK. 'Event' files get stored in a separate directory from the continuous ones so they don't get overwritten as soon. You can force the current recording into the Event directory by touching the leftmost button on the top. All in all a fairly sane setup.Cons: No wireless access to the files, let alone live feed. I can sort of understand this as it would increase power consumption, but in an age when your refrigerator has wifi your dash cam should have some kind of wireless capability. I was unable to get the camera to connect to a Linux laptop via USB-C, but the laptop could read the card just fine in its own reader. The screen is pretty small if you want a usable backup camera. To get GPS tagging on your files you have to buy a separate GPS mount... but its cheap. I like the camera well enough that I ordered the GPS mount (which uses UHB tape instead of a suction cup). Rear camera view at night is just black without additional light (pretty hard problem to solve with the camera mounted behind tinted glass -- could put an IR LED on the back of the van I suppose but not sure if the back camera does IR). Side view on the front camera is blacked out at night (again, hard problem to solve when you have full headlight illumination in the center of the field of view, so acceptable).Pro: They actually seem to have a customer service department! I mounted the camera in a vehicle that is over 21 feet bumper to bumper. The 6 meter cable they include for the rear camera, which would be fine in almost any other vehicle, isn't long enough to do any kind of sane cable management in the van. The cable is USB-C on one end, but the end that plugs into the camera is a weird, I assume proprietary 1/16" or so 4 conductor phono plug. It wasn't clear whether a USB-C extender would work. I looked for a longer cable online and there was nothing (except, it turns out, on the Vantrue Japan website). I contacted the company via email and received a prompt, intelligible reply; turns out they have a 9 meter cable available in China and Japan, and they are sending one.Unknowns: I haven't been in a position to evaluate whether files will finish saving before the power goes out in a wreck (see another review that mentions this). I am hopeful that the high bond tape mount will help with this if it ever becomes an issue. I am not sure how well the GPS position and speed tagging works, but hope to find out soon. Another reviewer mentioned a problem with the GPS format. All in all seems like a solid product so far, and one of very few solutions if you want a camera looking ahead at the road, another looking at the cop coming up behind you, and a third to show that you weren't texting, weren't speeding, and didn't do anything suspicious.

The product came with everything pictured except the mount. Really should make mention of this in the product line itself.

I bought 6 of these on Prime day for $175ea. They are normally $250. I did a ton of research on multiple brands and options and this got good reviews by some experts. If I paid full price for these I'd be angry. If I only had 1 car I would have went for a $450 Blackvue 900 or other higher end. Here's why. The Vantrue N4 is actually packaged and built well. It looks and feels high quality. The fact it has 3 cameras is a nice feature many do not offer. The video quality claims 4k but that's only front camera when the other 2 cameras are turned off. When you hear 4k you think movie quality crystal clear but this is not that. What you get here is what I would equate to a digital camera from 2010. Street signs and license plates are tough to read from most distances. All vehicles need to be still and close to clearly make out the # or else you may be struggling to see it. My main gripe is the lack of accessories for the price. You get the front/cabin camera combo and the rear camera along with a cig lighter plug and suction mount. There is no micro SD card (required) add $50. The other slap in the face is they make a GPS enabled suction mount add $20 (does not display speed or coordinates without this) and a hardwire power kit add $20. All that stuff could have been included and that would honestly make up for the mid grade camera, no wifi or Bluetooth, no touchscreen, and no app or smartphone compatibility.

Pros:-Excellent video/ snapshot quality on all 3 cameras, suction cup does well in the heat (up to 120 degrees so far), audio is great, night vision is pretty good, has all the data (time stamp, GPS and speed, w/ separately sold GPS module of course) and install was simple (I used adhesive cable clips to hide/ hold up my cables to the windows).-Takes up to 256gb micro SD card.Cons:-No Bluetooth to download videos to phone. Work around for iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 14.7 (at least), I bought the “SUNTRSKI” SD Card reader (multiuse/ multi adapter) for $15 on Vantrue to insert my memory card into and download my videos instantaneously to my phone or device. (HIGHLY recommend to buy and keep in the car.)-Doesn’t come with the Vantrue GPS receiver module adapter (I feel like it should come by default but bought it separately for $22 on Vantrue). I swapped it out with stock adapter/ suction cup it came with.Overall, it’s worth the investment on this device for your vehicle. Nicely spent $300 for my setup mentioned. (The video uploaded is in way better quality then what Vantrue allows, FYI.)

I drive for Lyft and this camera is awesome. The quality seems like a Go Pro camera. Worth every Penny. The only thing I don’t like is the camera doesn’t have wi-fi and App but I bought one adapter to plug the micro sd and connect at my iPhone, so it’s very easy to access.

I had a different dash cam and it worked like crap. With this dash cam I couldn't ask for more. It woeks exactly like it should.

Rear camera is not working and it is not helpful any more overall not worth it

It was very easy to install in my 2018 Jeep Compass. Still had a lot of extra wiring left so I'm sure it can fit almost any CUV/SUV. Love it!

Power cord broke in one day. New mount the cord plugs in from the top. Bad design.

Bought two of these for both of our 2020 vehicles and worked perfect for the first few months and then whenever we went to retrieve video, found out it didn't record. Constantly had issues connected to the device via the phone app. Discovered these were not staying powered on for whatever reason which was why the videos weren't recording and why we couldn't connect to retrieve the saved videos. Tried different SD Cards, Firmware upgrades, resets and nothing fixed the issue. Contacted support and they are sending replacements but I have little confidence they will work since both units failed the same way.

Works great, after a factory update a few issues I was having got corrected. I would suggest making sure the rear cam wire is secured. It almost clicks in. If not you’ll end up having issue. Once it’s in everything is great.

After 9 months of buying the product, the camera installed in the back of the car failed, the seller is contacted and responds slowly, but responds, sending the parts that failed, the problem is solved satisfactorily.

Not sure yet have to get it wired and up and running

This is my first dash cam. Product is solid. No installation problems. Issue is the rear cam is installed in the interior (good and bad) of the car so there are reflections off the interior window which show up on the display. Also the screen is small and is hard to view in a bright environment when reversing. Works well at night or in dimmer environments but not a bright day. I would get a screen at least double the size next time.

This pays for itself. This won't keep you from dying, but it'll help the insurance companies and lawyers after things go wrong.

Bought the N4 system and somehow managed to break the mount that connects camera to windshield suction cup. This was my doing, not a manufacturer defect. I wrote an email asking how I could acquire a replacement and they agreed to send me one at no additional cost to me. That’s fantastic!

From reviews I thought I was getting a quality modern dash cam for my safety.. with all it capabilities the most important aspect of the dash is it’s ability to be easily accessible to the owner and hard on those who want to remove data .. imagine my suprise that there isn’t an app to download or even view the videos from the dash cam and anyone can easily just remove the memory card from cam itself.. the only way someone can access the cam is to wire connect the card or cam to a pc which is ridiculous
Rickesh
I bought three cameras and Absolutely hate the suction cup as it constantly falls off when if gets hot. Major defect
Cora L. Germany
Love the camera! Picture quality amazing. The suction cup on holder sucks. Pretty soon my camera is going to break because the holder will lose suction and the camera comes crashing down (while driving) onto dashboard. My sd card slot already damaged.

For safety purposes I have bought this camera setup for my Toyota Prius a few weeks ago.I am still making up my mind on how it will go, but so far I have had a positive experience.Due to a mistake on my part, I had mounted the rear camera a little too close to a line on my back windshield and it causes there to be a big line obscuring the rear view. I didn't handle the replacement 3M sticky pad good and it resulted in me just leaving it where it was for now.I contacted Vantrue and they were very good in sending me a new 3M sticky pad for remounting. So I think the customer service is pretty good.I think I will come back to this review after a few more months, or if anything notable happens. In any case, I am satisfied with the camera so far.

I have had this camera since March. It is nice to have the OBD 2 plug and "cigarette" plug in. Only thing I noticed is and have discovered is my 2018 VW Tiguan's computer doesn't like being used as a power source. The OBD 2 power isn't meant for a power outlet anyway, and in turn computer is sensing something wrong which is turning on the Check Engine light. Only thing I suggest is including a Fuse Tap to have the ability to add a hard wire option due to the "cigarette" plug will not keep camera on 24 hours to use as a Security Camera

Vantrue N4 is great dashcam which will suits most of the vehicles. It is at little higher price point but its worth spending your money on. Everything is in a way it should be, screen, picture quality, build quality. Only complaint i have is it doesn't come with hard wiring kit, at the price point it is in the market, hardwire kit should be included with it.

I love it. Had some minor issue that needed to be addressed. Contacted Van True. support. They were amazing. Sent a new one within 48hours before my return has arrived to them.

I like that it was easy to install and the camera quality is great! I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and I’ve had no issues.

I'm was looking for a 4k camera because i want a high definition for see the licenses plates just in case that you need. but this camera have a diferent options to reccord if you want use 3 cameras you can use 1440+1080+1080 but 1440 in front is really poor definition and if you want better definition you need to change inferior definition in the other 2 cameras just like 2160+720+720 but that is 25 fps and with that resolution you can't see the licence plate of the other cars if you are in movement, the best resolution is only use 1 camera (front Camera) * 3840*2160 and still YOU CAN'T SEE THE LICENSE PLATES. and for what you pay for 3 cameras sistem and you only can use 1 whit the best resolution? is much better buy 3 cameras separately less risk all of them failure in an accident at the same time. The image with a withe car is in 2160+1080 25 FPS Resolution.

I bought and installed this in my 1999 Dodge Ram. Installation was simple but time consuming. its mainly running wires and cable management, which there is an abundance of. i currently have a coil of cable hanging from the roof simply because theres nowhere to run it. the mount, of which i opted to get the GPS addition, is rather weak. the camera tilts down on the driver side as theres too much play in the clamp for the stem. Power is also a concern. because a fuse relay power adapter costs extra, I currently use the provided "Cigarette Lighter" plug, which in my truck, is always powered meaning the camera only shuts off when I unplug it rather than when the car is turned off. from the literature, i gather that can lead to excessive wear and overheating as it does not seem to be intended to run 24/7. Its a dash cam, not a sentry cam. as a dash cam its fine. i haven't had to rely on its footage yet, knock on wood, but it seems to be clear quality. the device has no bluetooth capabilities, so a micro SD card is the best way to retain footage. All in all, the camera is fine but for as much as i spent, i really expected more. Bluetooth enabled, ability to run 24/7, better quality mount. i just expected more for the price

EDIT: Contacted the company through their website. They provided me with the replacement mount. Thank you!!Keeping 1 star because of the extra hassle trouble. Good customer service thoughNot even a year and the suction started coming off. I was driving on the highway and the camera suction suddenly came off and camera fell down (hanging on the wires alone). When it fell, it hit the multimedia screen in my car and the part which powers the whole unit broke. It has a ball-like thing inside which helps to adjust camera almost 360degrees. That ball just broke in half (see the picture) and I cant put it back. Even though the camera functions right, I can’t use it now. There goes my $250. Very poor quality material.

The camera turns off constantly when the temperature inside the car increases in no way will it be the same as the summer temperature in Texas, Arizona or Florida since being between 90 to 100 degrees outside it turns off is not something you expect to happen with a camera of more than 200 dollars and the only solution they give you is that you park your car in the shade as if that was always possible
Cobalt503
I felt like they're charging way too much for this camera system. It doesn't offer Wi-Fi or many of the other features that cameras comparable price do. It took a really long time to set up in the car otherwise I would return it with get something I would be more happy with. Like I have four more days to return it I just don't want to deal with the hassle of disconnecting it and pulling it down. It's going to have to get used to popping out the SD card and pulling the files off manually and then putting the SD card back into the device and then adjusting the camera so it's back into the proper viewing angle every time I want to extract a single file.

I bought this during Vantrue Prime Days, which made it a lower purchase price. This has a lot of decent features that meet most of my needs. I would like to see an app with this, something that would allow automatic transfer of looped videos at preset intervals. Otherwise a well built device that should me the most basic of needs

The Vantrue N4 is an excellent high definition camera. For the price the hardwired kit should have been included. Also a little disappointed that no option to have it connect to your phone. Overall, the camera is fantastic & clear with great frame rate.
Batman_Bin_Suparman
Camera was easy enough to set up - just followed the instructions and things ran fine. That said, the UI is kinda clunky and could be better thought out. It's not a deal breaker by any means though. Having the ability to switch between Front/Rear/Cabin on the video more quickly and easily would be nice.

Every time I turn it on it reset the date....

I can't actually attest to the quality of the picture, or the features of. I purchased the unit for my sisters car. I didn't get a chance to install it for her till after the return window from Vantrue - no big deal, that's on me.The camera was very sporadic on whether it would power on or not. I finally got it on. I formatted the SD card and thought I was good to go. I hooked it up to the card and no success. I pulled it back out and fought powering it on again. I finally got it to a point where I was able to update the firmware and it seemed to be working better. I thought I was in the clear. I hooked the camera back up to the gps mount and had no success in getting it to turn back on... Okay, bad mount maybe. So I tried the original suction mount that came with the dashcam - nope same issue.I've reached out to Vantrue for assistance multiple times (which this is not their fault, but their support is generally very helpful.) On the second interaction Vantrue suggested I reach out to the manufacture. I did that and received an email response the next day asking clarifying questions about the issue. Two weeks later and more emails from me the manufacture has gone silent.I've reached back out to Vantrue, and they are trying to get in touch with the manufacture now.I'm going to try and get this fixed because its not an insignificant amount of money that I dropped on this, but I wouldn't buy another cam made from this manufacture.

It is good when it works for 2 days. Recording stops after saving about 20MB per file for the 3 cameras. I give up am send this one back to Vantrue. Save yourself the headache and go with a different brand. I am never buying another product from Vantrue after a terrible first impression.

When I tried to view the recording on my computer I got a black screen with only the sounds.

Easy to install and self explaining. I haven’t installed the rear camera yet because of that long cable - wish it was wireless then it would be perfect . Cabin cam is only black and white recording - May be I did something wrong

After 4 month it stop working. It’s a good product but it should still be working. It was disappointing wen it didn’t want to work anymore.

Dislike: cables running through the vehicle dash.Like: it works beautifully, and as expected. Love it because it provides full coverage of the front, rear, and cabin views.

Used less than 2 days. Camera doesn't turn on anymore. Had problems whole time. Unfortunately I bought in March but only started using in July. Can't return. Never thought it would be trash out of the box. Don't waste your money.

Nice dashcam but seems that software is poor. I noticed reboots and decided to choose a more expensive dashcam with real reviews

Video quality Is amazing! Really easy install i enjoy the GPS function. Even though it does cost extra which kind of sucks but Definitely worth it in the end. Especially having a view of the cabin as well as the front entry the front end for you I got it about 2 months ago and have been added about 2 months ago I have been using it every day since 24/7. I will update in a few months and see if I still like it. Still really wish there was an online function or is the lime function or they added that in the future I would definitely I would definitely be willing to pay extra for that function a extra for that functionality.

Best dash cam worth the money works good all the time I would like to see a bigger display other then that it’s the best investment I made for my car.

One of the first reviews I've ever left on Vantrue. Thought this dashcam would be great, worth the money as I drive in a work truck. When I first started using it, the picture quality was fantastic, constantly recorded every time I used it without shutting off randomly like some reviews suggested. After about 4 days of having it, 3 days of actual use, the dash cam wouldn't turn on for some reason. I kept trying different cords, in my truck and my house, but it wouldn't work.I figured whatever, when I get home I'll try to contact the company to figure it out - first thing that made me realize how bad this company is, is the serial number on the camera is incredibly hard to read, barely even visible. Then, their website wont let you create an account without clicking "receive newsletters" checkbox, THEN when you try to contact them, once you fill everything out and click "submit" the form wont even load, just a white screen.Horrible camera quality and horrible website at the least. It's a great camera IF it works.

dont try and buy this dashcam if your trying to protect your vehicle. I purchased this for parking mode to protect My car when I'm not around it.. whenever I try and turn parking mode on and press ok over parking mode when it says off, it just brings me back to the page before. I ordered the hardwire kit even because it said I needed the kit to turn on parking mode and it still won't say yes or give the icon that it's on. so now it's just permanently recording slowly draining my battery, instead of having parking mode on. really frustrating. I've even tried ordering a 2nd N4 dashcam and it still gave me the same issue. I contacted the company about my issues and they just told me to order another one. no help whatsoever.

The image quality is good. Was very easy to install. There are no additional wires for hard wiring incase you are planning to get it hard wired. I just plugged it into the cigarette lighter. It gets really hot though. I dont know how long these are gonna last really. It runs super hot even under fairly cool weather.

The resolution of the picture is great. Brightness is just right, specially at night. A few things could be improve, quick disconnector (hard to remove camera without taking the windshield suction bracket), have an internal battery to power the camera and be able to look at the videos offline. You can only do this if is powered by usb or car.
Stroke
Install very easy and covers almost 360 degrees for peace of mind driving.

I’m using this dash am on my 2018 genesis g70. It’s a perfect dash change but also my first dash cam. My only issue and it could be from teh memory car itself is that after it fills a great memory size an error shows up and I have to formate the SD card. I’m expecting the card to overwrite the files but again it could be my SD card need to be changed.Video quality is very clear. Microphone can be improved. Will not record well if the sound too load.

The only thing that I didn’t like it was the cost of installation was so high

**Update - tech support received**Since writing the review below, I was able to get in contact with Vantrue support and told them what happened. They asked many questions and requested screenshots and video clips so that they could see what I was seeing. As part of going through this process with them, I discovered two things. 1) the black spots in the videos I was seeing was only occurring the first time I played the video. But the video played fine and completely on the second play through. So I believe that this was due to buffering/ cache issue on the laptop I was using. 2) the other thing I discovered was that not only was my drive home where I was hit, missing, but so was half of my lunch outing that day. The video of me and a co working leaving to go to lunch was never recorded. But us coming back from lunch was. After viewing all of this, Vantrue said that they believed all of this was due to a faulty G sensor and offered to send me a new dash cam if I would return the old one. So I did. Unfortunately, I had to pay for shipping to return it. But they have indeed sent me a new dash cam. It arrived quickly and appears in good condition.I have increased my original review from 2 stars to 3 stars because of the polite and thorough support that I received and because they did send me a new camera. I have not given it more than 3 stars because my vehicle is in the shop under going repairs from the incident and so I have not yet had a chance to install the new dash cam and test it. I plan on updating this review again after I have had a chance to install and test the new dash cam.**Previous 2 Star Review**I bought this because not too long ago someone ran into my vehicle in a parking lot and left. I discovered the damage after the fact with no idea who'd done it. I had a dashcam at the time but it only worked when the car was on. I had already been wanting one with park mode because I have rims on my vehicle that have been tampered with once already. Then I got backed into. So I broke down and bought this. It seemed to be working fine. I hadn't had it installed long(~week). In fact I had just realized I had not set up the date and time on it and planned to do that when I got home. That evening, someone rear ended me on the drive. I remember seeing the dashcam come on when I got in the vehicle to head home from work. But after the cop left the scene I went to save the video file and the dashcam was not only off but would not turn on. I got home and pulled the sd card. There were no videos after I got in my vehicle to head home from work that day. I went back through the videos and the morning video was fine, but as the day went on, the park mode videos started blacking out in spots. I pull out the instructions and it said, 1) remove from vehicle in excessive heat (I know it never hit above 90F outside that day)... and 2) don't run continuously.... so was it just hot enough and my work parking lot just busy enough for it to die?? If so that's a pretty low bar. I live in the south. The summer temp was mild the day it died and I personally don't feel like my work parking lot is that busy. I feel like I just wasted a bunch of money. I could just not run the park mode, but that was the whole point of buying it in the first place. So don't buy this if you live in the south and want to use park mode. Apparently that's too much for it to handle.I did give this 2 stars instead of just 1, bc I liked the low profile design.

I really like this dash cam for it's quality videos, but one major drawback is the lack of WIFI or Bluetooth connectivity. It has a motion sensor so that if someone is breaking in the car it start recording, but what good is that if they steal the dash cam with all the footage in it?

UPDATE!!! JAN 2022..... the suction cup still doesn't hold the camera. No matter how many times how I put it on it does not stay on more than a week maybe two weeks. So far it has fallen more than 20 times. It is very annoying and sometimes scary when it falls during driving. Sometimes it feels like it's going to hit me in the.I wish I can get my money back. Maybe I will try super glue it.You would think for this price it would have a decent suction cup that doesn't fall off every morning and wifi to view your view via phone. I really want to return this and buy another brand that has wifi.

First off the Quality of the camera is Great! Like exactly what you want! But for the price and what you don’t get this camera just is hard to justify spending the money. It doesn’t allow you the ability to wirelessly retrieve video clips or send through WiFi or Bluetooth. So if the camera is ever damaged or lost in a accident or robbery along with the memory card. It’s useless and like you never spent the money in the first place which is the whole point of having this device. So it’s like have 60% coverage for the type of scenarios in which you want to have a dash cam anyway

It worked the first 2 weeks. I was using a Vantrue 256gb sd card. On the 3rd week, it would only record a few minutes then freeze up. On 4th week, it would not even power on. I unplugged/plugged from the cigarette lighter and still no power. This is on my brand new 2021 Subaru. I know it wasn't the plugs. I plugged it to my computer. It would turn on but my computer couldn't see the dash cam. This unit was defective. I sent 4 emails to Vantrue but got no reply. Very bad customer support.

I am pleased with this dash cam. It provides high-quality videos for both front-cabin-rear cameras. Although I have an issue when I install the sd card to the dashcam in the first setup (I somehow inserted the sd card in the empty space in the slot), it is a good experience overall. This is a worth investment, and it gives me the protection I need on the road.

I spent a couple of weeks researching dash cams for my car and came across this deal on Prime day. First off the cameras themselves are excellent, picture quality is clear from all three cameras. I paid extra at a local car audio, video store to hardwire the system and install both the front and rear cameras so the wires aren't showing to look "professional " which was done. The main issue I gave the camera system a one star rating is that the camera will not format any SD cards including their own branded SD card. I tried everything to format the SD card which is the only way to record, save, and use the camera for recording while parked. The customer service dept at Vantrue is an absolute joke. They have no phone number to call. There website ask you to email them, which I have several times with no response. I'm basically out the install cost of 125 dollars, and a not functional dash cam for recording any activities (which is the point of a dash cam in the first place). Luckily Vantrue is refunding the cost of the SD card which I had to pay extra 50 bucks on Vantrue, and sending me a new dash cam to see if the new one works. Just buy something else to save yourself the hassle of non functioning dash cam. I definitely do not recommend this product.

So I purchased the N2 dash cam a few years ago and loved it. So I recently upgraded to the N4 because I wanted the rear view camera and the 4K quality. I couldn't be happier with the N4 dash cam as it was easy to install and all 3 camera views are great quality. With the 256GB memory card you can record for what seems like forever without filling it up.Recently I had an issue with the N4's rear view camera, with the rear view camera plugged in my dash cam would not start recording. So long story short the rear view camera had failed. I contacted Vantrue's customer support through email explaining my problem. Less than 24 hours later Vantrue's customer service team responded to me with an offer to send me a new rear view camera and the cable it uses no questions asked. A little over a week later I received a brand new rear view camera and cable at no cost to me which solved my problem. I was very impressed with Vantrue's customer service response! If anyone has ever had to deal with a company's product warranty guarantee then you know it can be a lot of trouble. But Vantrue solved my problem very quickly and required very little effort from myself to do so. I'm not sure how my experience with Vantrue could be any better between having a high quality product and excellent customer service.

Owesome camera great quality video.

I love how clear all 3 channels are. Installation was relatively easy though I wish there was a plastic wedge included for shoving the lines into the interior paneling. My biggest complaint would be with the suction cup mounting. It falls off periodically especially when it gets hot. I'd like a 3M mount included for a more permanent mounting solution.

Bought this camera and when you hook up the third camera to it it starts to act up shutting off and on this should not happen obviously they didn’t do enough R&D on it because it shouldn’t have issues but it does and they seem to refuse to replace it for me because I’ve gotten no response from them so don’t buy it

Bought this just a few days ago and i got it all hooked up in my car and tested all the cameras out and its amazing . Great quality. Would be nice to have an app. I did just one issue, it wont turn on or off automatically with the car. Im using the cigaret lighter plug for power so i have to plug it every time i get in and out of the car cause i don’t want it to drain my battery. I don’t wanna return it so can someone help.

Got a deal on this so I couldn't pass it up. The camera quality looks amazing. It will shut off all the time. Buy a different cameraUpdate: camera needed an update. Once the update went through I've had no issues with the camera.
