I bought this dash cam because I wanted to previously purchase the N3 but never got to it. My first impression of the camera were great I like the features it had and maybe me liking it was due to my excitement of always wanting a Vantrue dashcam. I was disappointed and realized that this was not the dashcam I wanted when it came time to install it. The camera sat too low on my windshield and did not give discreet look. I then realized that I need a camera that would give me more features. Though you can watch the events on the camera you can not save them immediately to your phone and send to someone. I decided to purchase the VIOFO T130 for which cost about the same but let’s me access the videos on my phone at any moment I like to send it to someone. It’s not a bad camera but if you want something discrete mounted to your windshield this is not the dashcam for you.

Easy to use and set up. Transferring files to the computer is easy as well. My only complaint is this annoying and distracting clicking noise it makes. I fastened the suction cup tight. Ports are plugged tight. The screw is tight, yet I keep hearing this cheap plastic clicking sound while the car is in motion. Its distracting and annoying. It's not the camera going into night vision either. It's making the clicking sound at all times. That's my only complaint.

The camera was easy to install and has a great picture. While I was running the cord to the back the cable slipped into a hole in the frame and become irretrievable wedged. I tried for almost an hour to get it unstuck but ended up ruining it. E-mailed the company and they responded right away and I have a new cable on the way, free of charge. This is the camera to get!

Bought a 256gb samsung micro sd and footage lasts about two weeks using 4K 25fps for front and back. Pleasantly surprised with video quality. Installation was easy, suction cup going strong for last two weeks. Highly recommend.

Due to the sensitivity of the parties involved, I can not upload a video to support what I am saying. VANTRUE dash cam really came through for me. A had an accident caused by an aggressive driver that swiped me from the side. My insurance company adjudicated a 50-50 culpability until I insisted they review the rear/cabin cameras. Then they reversed the adjudication to full culpability on the other driver. His insurance company even agreed upon reviewing the videos.I now own four (4) VANTRUE cameras of supercapacitors: I reside in a hot climate zone (South Texas)

I had to pull one side of the headliner to install the rear view camera. I wrapped the wire in foam to prevent rattles. I had to push the wire further in so not to interfere with the airbag curtain. I hung the rearview camera on the headliner from a bracket I made. Your package is thoughtful and complete with the variety of fuse taps. I installed this in a '07 Toyota Tundra Crewmax.

Front facing picture quality is immaculate, rear camera is small with great picture quality, interior facing camera adds extra layer of security & insurance to show driver wasn't distracted/texting/sleeping/etc. Suction cup has never failed. Cam is extremely hot and auto shutdown when in car temp reach 83f to 93f. I ask for replace but the support was asking to test, record and send to Vantrue for exam. Replacement process costs too much time. I gave up.Be aware when you use OBD cable. It does not shutdown the camera when the battery is low as Vantrue advertise. My battery drain out so I have to jump start. I stop to use the OBD cable. I am power the cam by the cigaret lighter.It is a bad product. Dont buy it. I use Viofo on other car for 4 year until now. There is no issue at all. Viofo handle heat very well.

I had the n2pro and loved it so I decided to get this for the extra camera for what’s behind me because it could be pretty important. Luckily the back cam in cab cam work great and it’s also great I haven’t had to worry about any footage from behind me or inside the car.So yesterday I stopped at a stoplight and there was a car in the middle of a busy intersection with a guy standing next to it, I assumed his car broke down but unfortunately for some reason that intersection was was where this man chose to commit suicide. I immediately saved the footage to my dash cam and I waited and talked to police told them I caught it on my dash cam and when I tried to show them it looked so bad but I assumed it was just because it was on the little screen (even though the video from the other cameras looked good enough to see details. So I came home to make a copy of it and holy crap I was so embarrassed because I knew I’d have to give this footage to the police and you can hardly see a thing. I was right there and had a great view of the worst thing I’d ever witnessed but that was the first time I’d checked the footage because I made the mistake of trusting this company due to my previous experience with them, the footage was useless and the police saw the footage the next day and looked at me like I’m an idiot for even offering, I knew it was bad but I promised the other officer so I didn’t want to not give it to them but I absolutely regret it now almost as much as I regret putting this dash cam in my car.I’ve had the cam since April, I got it as a gift from my ex and unfortunately I gave her my good n2pro so I can’t return or exchange this. Look into another brand of dash cam.I played the video on my tv and tried to record the part I was referring to with my iPhone 12 Pro and you can still barely see what happened but without zooming in you’d never even know anything happened. I’ll try to upload a normal clip of how poor quality this thing is soon though..

The Vantrue N4 dash cam lives up to its quality. Was a bit apprehensive about the installation even after viewing videos on YouTube but it installed easily and quickly. Needed a longer cord for the rear camera and after contacting the service department was offered a 29.5 foot cable which I gladly accepted, at no cost! I live in a fast developing rural area. Between construction trucks, agricultural equipment (tractors), and oil sites we have had a lot of close calls w/ the uptick in traffic.I’ve tried a dash cam in the past but found them to be of poor image quality and lacking recording capabilities. That was about 5-6 years ago so I thought I’d give a dash cam another try.I checked a lot of reviews and settled on this vantrue 4K dash cam. I like the features of having 3 angles and a large capacity for recording. Also the footprint is much smaller than I thought it would be.Install was fairly easy and setup was simple. The only issue I ran into was card read errors. I formatted on my computer and through the dash cam but nothing worked. Samsung and other trusted brands had issues. I eventually got a card to work.So far all of the images look great (Blue and green tint at times) and records everything. I hope I never need to use the dash cam footage for anything but we feel better having some proof should we need it.

There are so many dash cams on Vantrue. After reading the reviews I'm convinced that a lot of them are either fake or are paid reviews. That made it really tough to sort through! I've had a Vantrue N2 for quite a while and have used it in several vehicles. It was always reliable so after sorting through the newest camera offerings, I decided to stick with a brand I knew. I am super happy with the N4. The addition of the 3rd channel is really nice. I have mine mounted at the top of my rear window. Even with dark tinted windows, my rear channel is clear. The camera is very easy to install. It took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish. I do not have mine hooked up to a constant hot wire so I can't use the parking features. Set up was simple and the menus were easy to navigate. The only thing keeping this from a full 5 stars is that it doesn't have wifi/app capabilities. It would sure be awesome if you could connect wirelessly and view your clips on your phone rather than have to remove the micro sd card and view them on your computer. One trick for first timers. If you don't want to use the standard cigarette lighter plug in your dash and you also don't want to pay extra for a hardwire kit, for about 6 bucks you can buy a female cigarette adaptor, wire it directly into your fuse box and connect this camera with the standard included plug....and still have it all nicely tucked away out of site under your dash....and keep your in dash lighter plug free.

I have to say I initially got this camera because sometimes I drive Uber so it just made me feel safe knowing everything was being recorded. After receiving the camera and hooking it up I can tell you that I’m 100% happy with my purchase. the Vantrue N4 Dash cam captures everything, and with such great detail and quality. It’s worth every penny. Even great at watching the car when its parked, via the hardwire cable. I do recommend getting the 256gb Vantrue card when you buy the dash cam, as it wont record anything without it.Playback videos on your pc via the usb cord, the view is so much better, and you can look at all the angles at separate times. Sophia on the market for a dash cam the Vantrue N4 is the way to go.

Both during the day and night time. Works like any other dash cam. Be careful installing the SD card. I somehow managed to push the SD card incorrectly & had to open the camera to be able to get it out. My only minor thing is that for the price I wish it have like an app for us to download a clip instead of going to the computer & connecting the dash cam and doing all that.Update 4/21/22,(3 stars)So I bought a second Vantrue N4, I gave my first one to someone. I went to check how the dash cam videos were looking, and I gotta say it’s very disappointing, video quality is not as good as my first Vantrue N4. If I were to compare my old Vantrue vs this “new” one, it’s pretty noticiable, specially at night. I will be requesting a replacement and then I’ll update this review.Update 05/02/22( 5 stars)I received the replacement dash cam & the quality on this one definitely looks like my first N4, love it! Everything is true in the Headline. Very easy to install. The compact design allows this camera to tuck up close to the rear view mirror. I added the GPS unit, which was inexpensive, without using any additional space. Video clarity is perfect. Choose your preferred quality setting and done, it's that easy. If you drive your vehicle daily you shouldn't have any trouble leaving the camera plugged in. If not, this camera will drain your cars battery in a couple of days. There are options to have a standalone power source if minimal use of your vehicle is a concern. Vantrue N4 camera is top notch and should be in every vehicle.

After wiring the rear camera, I discovered that it was not working for some reason. Before I just undo everything and returned to Vantrue, I figured I’d give their Support a shot. Usually I have little luck in these situations. To my surprise they responded quickly and offered to send a replacement cable assuming the problem was that (and a low cost fix). But after I explained that I have an upcoming trip, they agreed to send me both a replacement cable AND the rear camera module. I’m glad they did because it was the camera at fault, and swapping that out fixed it..

I was sent a used item and no effort put in to even mask it. Cables were untied and the ties thrown into to box. Box was unsealed. Box looks like it was rolled or used as a football. All the corners completely dented in. I havent even opened the other items in the box yet.UPDATE - Vantrue came through and shipped me a replacement item. The new one works much better and no issues. Changed 3star to a 5star. Great customer service.

Already in installation the rear camera doesn't work at all. I loosened up the wires and I thought maybe the wires too tight but its not the case. Its plugged in it just sucks. If I am spending this kind of money I except it to work fully. I will try and troubleshoot more but so far its a dud.

I had to pay $150 to get it installed and rear view camera didn't work. Now I'm stuck with it. Also had an incident where if the back up camera worked I would have caught two thieves that broke into a family memebers car next too mine.

This is a great dash cam system to be sure. Every feature is as advertised with one exception. I strongly recommend against the hardwire option. What people say is true…it will drain your battery. I ran the lighter power adapter through the trim and I have a great installation look that powers on and off with the ignition. Also, don’t forget to pop the memory card about once a month and reformat.

We needed a longer cord to install the rear camera in our RV. Contacted Van True and they ordered it for us and no charge. When we received the longer cord it would not connect with the rear camera. I contacted Echo at VanTrue and he ordered another cord again no charge.Received it 2 days ago and hooked it up with no problems.Fantastic Customer Support and the quality of the camera pix is very clear.

The camera and mount are ridiculously bulky, big and heavy. 30fps??? Are we in 1986 recording to VHS??? This items quality is on a whole new level of bad. Camera lense came out in my hand when unboxing. I got this as a gift so I came on here to find out any other issues people are having with this pos. You can barely even understand the wording in the listing....come on Vantrue if you're going to allow Chinese junk at least make sure they know the English language enough to correctly describe their garbage. Other problem here is that it's a SUCTION CUP MOUNT.....so when you travel and stay in a hotel....unless you want it in the hands of a crackhead you have to take it out of the car and then put it back in ...re aim it etc etc ...stupid idea. Buy a Garmin GPS with a driver cam in it.....better picture quality, multiuse item, lighter, and proven product. From a professional truck driver with 31 years on the road when it counts...dont depend on this garbage. Buy quality equipment.

Returning this camera after 2 weeks, the external rear camera failed, causing the main camera to heat up and power cycle on and off repeatedly until I unplugged the power. I pulled into a gas station, got my meter out, checked power, had a constant 13v at the unused power point under the dash, which I had the official Vantrue power supply wired into (master auto tech by trade for a decade), good chassis ground inside the truck at the main dash support. I loved the video quality, both the front and compartment cams worked great, the compartment cam is adjustable, the suction cup held up well, but I was way less than impressed that the GPS is a separate unit for purchase, I had difficulty removing the camera from the GPS suction cup base, there is no built-in wi-fi, I couldn't get my new HP laptop to play the Vantrue MP4 video files (it played other cheap brand $50 dash camera vids just fine), only audio. I could only view videos if I moved the videos from the Vanture sd card to the computer, THEN copied to my Samsung Note 9. That was a deal breaker for me, I'd like to be able to pull video on demand at an incident. I ended up buying a Rexing V5, I'll see how that holds up. I originally had a Apeman C770 dual cam with built in wifi, gps, and touch screen, at half the price it held up better for 2 years than the Vantrue did in 2 weeks. Buy at your own $300+ risk for all the Vantrue branded add-ons (power supply, 256gb card, GPS suction cup antenna with power point) and enjoy having to pull videos with your computer.

Contacted Customer Support a Number of Times (Fast Response). I Asked Why Does it Only Display 720P on my 4K TV ? The Answer... HDMI Display only supports 720P Actually. The Resolution of the Cam Recorded file is 4K, but the Display is Different from the Recorded Video File. The Dashcam does not support 4K output Display? Me: That is the most Ridiculous Thing I Ever Heard, How would That Help me out in Court. If I Rip/Burn a DVD in only 720P ? It Should be Recording in the Resolution I set it for which is 3840x2160. Really love this camera. Video quality is crisp and smooth. I recommended this camera to a bunch of people already and they also loved it.I attached a video example under this review, but the quality may not be as good because Vantrue compressed the video due to the file being too big. The video quality is impressively good, I am able to get good video from all 3 camera lens in day or night. A clean windshield and rear window also make huge difference. Night vision is so clear both inside and outside of the car. With new CMOS sensor and F1.4 aprture in the front, night time video is super clean. and 4 IR LED lights for interior camera help to see everything inside the car in night time as well.

Beyond the fact that the N4 is the best in quality and production, The rear camera connection issue has been an issue for some; on the Internet and me.If you have a rear camera connection problem, when you try to connect the cable to the camera cord, push a little harder than usual and then, while pushing both cords, slightly twist the camera cord.You will feel and hear a slight ‘click-like’ sound; works 100%

I bought this dashcam a few months ago. I was very excited to finally get this for my car. However, the rear camera was not working. I had to tried to talk to Vantrue Customer Service but they told me to contact Vantrue instead. I emailed Vantrue Customer Service and I had explained that the screen for the rear camera does not show up on the LED screen. I even sent them pictures that everything was connected correctly. They said they were going to send a replacement for the rear camera and so they did. That replacement still did not work. I even exchanged the cables and it still did not work. Vantrue then said they would replace the whole camera for me. I had to send the camera that I had back first and show them the tracking number to show that I did. They then sent a whole new camera set two days later and everything worked after that! The front, cabin, and rear cameras are working! Vantrue Customer Service was very helpful despite me replying a little late. I was still grateful for their help. The quality is very good on the camera so I'll rate that a 5. The quality in the night is all right but not too bad so I rate that a 4. Overall, great camera and Vantrue Customer Service helped me!(I got the new camera set over a month and a half ago and I'm just now leaving a review because they deserve a good review.)

Everything was great for two months and then one morning, the camera fell off the dashboard window. I tried licking it and everything, but it just won't stick to the window anymore.UPDATE to FIVE STARS!! The seller replaced the GPS connector, no questions asked. I had problems with the rear camera not working right away. I contacted support and they had me do some trouble shooting. Since that didn't fix the problem, they sent a new rear camera and cable. It took a couple of weeks from China, but now everything is fine. Although it can be frustrating when new things don't work, this company is quick to get it fixed and keep their customers happy. And I am!

I was really looking forward to using this dash cam as it contains all the features I was looking for. I even decided to through the effort of hardwiring the camera to record 24/7. But, the biggest disappointment comes from the suction cup mount. I bought this in February and I’ve only been able to go a full day with use before the camera simply falls from the mounting location. The suction cup on average holds for 20 minutes before failing in the heat. I tried contacting them directly for a resolution but never heard back. I’m sure this camera is great from seeing the other reviews but I have yet to confirm myself.

I've had 5 dashcams. This is my second Vantrue and I'd buy more. The camera is easy to use and never misses a recording. The new N4 makes up for the missing functions of the previous one, but even the older one was bulletproof.This new one has much better low light and night vision also.

Got into a wreck the camera only got when we left our house and stopped working after 44seconds. Checked the other saved drives, and they all cut off after a minute. The picture quality is good, though. Wish it got our fender bender.

The camera is wonderful and one of its kind. I am an ex user of N2 Pro (front+cabin) and I really loved the camera quality on that. Their customer support is pretty responsive on email as well.N4 is equally a great quality 3 channel (front+cabin+rear) dash cam. I have one from about an year now. The 3rd camera cable is very long and would easily run till the end of a big SUVs rear windshield. It has a collision lock as well, which ensures you dont loose the footages required to prove your innocence.

I have used this dash cam now for 2 weeks, daily, and nightly while driving Uber. The quality is excellent. Driving in the rain on the highway is excellent also. Night vision is the best that I have ever seen. I purchased 2 other brands only to be disappointed with the quality of night time driving. This cam is absolutely the best for all conditions.

Overall amazing! The clarity, the features, everything...only downside is you need to upload the recordings off the SD card in order to view them, there is no syncing from the phone to do a real time look back. Other than that, it's a great dash cam.

Vantrue N4 3 Channel 4K Dash Cam, 4K+1080P Front and Rear, 4K+1080P Front and Inside, 1440P+1080P+1080P Three Way Triple Car Camera, IR Night Vision, 24 Hour Parking Mode, Capacitor, Support 256GB Max, has a great picture. But I was ready to send it back because the wires can't be hid. The rear camera wire plugs into the side of the camera. The charger is plugged into the top of the suction cup mount, so the camera has to be lowered so the straight plug clears the headliner. But I worked around that, then two days later, in 77* weather, I find the camera hanging by the wires. So I clean off both the suction cup and glass and place the camera. Need to use more, so it could be more or less stars.

3 cameras, great for uber taxi ect, records inside of the car.. I did not use it for that. The display always shows pip sometimes you don't want to see images as its distracting. It is a good Chinese product software simple to use. SUCTION cup is JUNK. I have the mount where it has the GPS function it work but constantly looses its grip on the windshield in hot weather it does not hold long. The wire position on the power mounts are design poorly instead of being together or on the same side One wire is at the top and one at the bottom does not make an installation look neat. For the price its over priced should not be more than 150.00 won't buy again

This is an a amazing upgrade from the n2. Adding the rear camera is a game changer. The rear camera also is crystal clear even through the tint. Also the bigger lcd screen is nice as well. Vantrue hit it out of the park with this one.

Love the camera and easy to hard wire to the truck….. but when in parking mode I came back to the car in a few hours and the camera itself was hot. Didn’t want to damage the camera so I unplug now if I’m not going to be back in the truck for more than a hour. Wish the camera would not get hot. I turned the settings on medium sensitivity and still didn’t fix the issue.

I had the N2 Pro and wanted another system. This has the same features as the N2 Pro but stepped it up a notch with quality and an added 3rd camera.

It has a very good image quality as detailed in the product description easy to install and it is an excellent camera I am happy with this camera and now I feel safer with her when driving through the streets

Front Camera is working but records only 3 seconds even though it's set to record for 3 minutes. Rear view Camera works for 3 minutes, becomes still and no video recording.Update: The customer service contacted us in 1round 12 hours. We are working with their customer service on the issues. It may be the loose connectivity to the rear camera. However, the cabin camera is still showing everything in pink and recording in pink.

Unfortunately this may take some work on your end to achieve. If you have a car/truck with stiff suspension or a bass driven stereo you will need to turn off the g-sensor detection. I also only run the video for back and front not inside. I had a problem with the MicroSD giving me error messages. It would say that there was a problem with the SD card and that would require reformatting the card. Vantrue's customer service is actually pretty stellar. My original review was based on problems with recording video to the SD and some other small issues/complaints. They asked me to try out their MicroSD card and see if it resolved the problems. I can't conclude if the new SD actually fixed my issues or not. The reason I say that is I turned off the G sensor completely as to prevent locked/protected videos. Thus far the combination of the 2 have been trouble free. I have also ordered a phone connector to view the SD card if and when needed. The lack of a wifi app for updating etc. is really a bummer. They do claim they're working on a wifi version. I also think it could update from a better more stable mount. There's really nothing wrong with the mount as it functions as needed. However, it does vibrate quite a bit in vehicles with stiffer suspension. At the end of the day after working out all of the kinks so that it functions as it should for my particular application it turns out this is a pretty great dash cam. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if needed. The Rexing does edge this out with the app and wifi functionality but the Vantrue is a great 2nd place winner in my books.

This is an excellent camera. However I wish it was supported by a mobile app instead of inserted the Micro chip into a laptop. It would’ve been much easier with a app.

Overall this Camera is great in its features and it’s convenience, its only down side for me is the rear camera just doesnt seem to work no matter what I do. It’s supposed to show up upon plugging it in but i still have yet to get it working.

I’ve only had this camera for a little over two months now. The first time I reinserted the sd card into the camera after checking my files asked to reformat the sd card and lost everything. Didn’t realize it until I went to check my files again. Note the camera won’t read the sd card at all and the camera itself will get stuck on the “goodbye” screen until the camera is unplugged. Tried to reset it to factory settings and nothing happens. I’m also using the sd card they provide and the gps mount that for whatever reason is sold separately. Save yourself $400 and get something else. Still waiting on customer service to see if they’ll honor the warranty or give me a refund
