My first dash cam purchase. Seems to work great and I'm very pleased with the quality and ease of setup. The app however doesn't work well at all even after multiple attempts, updates, setting changes, uninstall and reinstall steps.

I bought two of these because I have been concerned about people making false claims against our business vehicles with commercial insurance. Hasn't happened yet, but want to be prepared in case it does. I watched a set up video online and determined I could figure out how these work with relative ease. Everything arrived as promised in packaging and feel so far that it is a very solid product. I contacted customer support about a longer cable for the rear camera (the one included is long and should work for almost all applications already) but we have an extended Cargo Van so the cable was about 4 foot too short to reach. They responded quickly and offered to send us a longer cable for FREE. Awesome! I couldn't find a longer USB c to USB c on Vantrue - so this is great! We had also already purchased some USB c to USB c connector and second cord, but that does not work to extend the length of cable. Signal or power won't work that way.I am very pleased with purchase and appreciate the customer service I have received.

I chose this dash cam because I wanted to upload and view recordings on my phone and computer. I can't get it to work. The picture quality is good. If I could get the cam to sync to the app it would be 5 stars. Buying one for my daughter as a gift but will choose a different cam.

Terrible.App does not work at all with android. The camera says it's connected, but the app just gets stuck.Check all the 1 star reviews for android users on Google Play.

I've used this product for two months now in order to give it a fair review. This is certainly a step up from other dashcams, even other Vantrue products. Between the value (cost) and the product that you'll receive, I think 5-stars is fair, but I recommend getting familiar with your product before you need to use it in the case of an emergency or accident. The pros:Once it's set up, the camera just works. I set it up and forgot about it and my videos are available whenever I need them. I don't want to go on and on about a product that performs its function, but you can trust in it, for sure. The video quality on both the front and rear cameras is clear both in the daytime and at night (and it also points out that I need to clean my windshields...), and the even on off-brand high-endurance SD card makes me feel confident that my videos will be accessible should I ever need them. The hardware is good, and self-explanatory. The software could use a little work, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be set.Two caveats:- I did not find this product simple to set up. It wasn't hard, but it took about 20-30 minutes for me to work through understanding exactly what I was seeing. One of the best features of the dashcam-- that as soon as I turn my car on, the camera starts recording-- was the biggest hurdle to me getting into the menu. There's a slight delay between stopping the camera from recording to being able to access the menu which caused me a lot more trouble than I would have expected.- The wi-fi connection for downloading videos is clunky. I'm used to pulling an SD card and putting it on my computer, so for most applications, that would work just fine. But the idea of being able to download the video of an accident right to my phone at the scene is quite attractive. It's doable, but it takes a little practice. I found that even after setting up the wi-fi connection correctly, it still took two or three tries to get to the library where I could download my videos. I highly recommend practicing with this particular feature before you need it so you know how to access the files. Conclusion: It's hard to complain about a camera like this. For the average user, I might dock a star for the software, but for my use two months in, this is certainly a five-star product.

You can tell this is a high quality product, was torn between this and the N4, but ended up getting the X4S, since I didn't really have a need for the inside camera view and the X4S does 4k up front and 1080p in the back and that is exactly what I looking for. Also happy to report some of the complaints have been addressed with the latest and greatest firmware update. Even better this system features USB C, so that is a nice plus. The wifi and app are perfect to quickly download your videos, instead of taking the SD card our camera and physically connecting it to your computer. Very happy with upgraded version!

So it's a great dash cam however I was very specific look for a dash cam that recorded my speed and show it as I drive, it has the option for it and it's on but it doesn't display it on the LCD Screen or the recorded videos and that is disappointing know I bought this dash cam for that exact purpose. Also I guess because for the heat maybe that's why the stand broke. Update now on my home fell off my windscreen gonna return it unfortunately. Update I got an replacement after I spoke with Jennifer a representative and she was able to assist and resolved my situation now it's work 200% amazing speed recording and holding on.

After putting in the VanTrue SD card, I powered on the camera to access the menu. Camera reboots about every 30 seconds. I powered off the camera and removed the SD card. Power up the camera and continuous rebooting. Disappointing. Wrote this review and waited... like Bart Simpson and a hot stove... so I tried again inserting the card and powering on and it failed yet again. At this point, I boxed it all up, left in on the end table to return to Vantrue. Remember the hot stove... so I tried it again that evening and this time the camera powered up without issue.1) could be how the SD cards seats in the camera. 2) wondering if its a capacitance issue where the camera needed to be plugged in for a while before setup. 3) The camera knew how disappointed I was and decided to cooperate.

This camera is well made and well thought out. The build quality stood out immediately as high quality workmanship. The mounting system is easy and keeps the camera out of your sight line. Install was way easier than I had anticipated. The first day I used this camera, a large box truck traveling in the right lane at 65Mph decided he needed to make a left turn and crossed two lanes while hitting his brakes. The offending truck crossed within feet of me. Thankfully I was quick to react. I was however happy to know if I had rear ended the truck, I would have had video documentation of his bad driving. In today’s high treat combat driving situations it’s a must for those who drive a lot.

Camera worked fine for a while then video became choppy before finally cycling on and off for the past week. Seemed like good quality camera at first but failed quickly

Bought this unit for the high reviews.Would definitely be 5 stars for the design and ease of install.1 star for broken app and parking mode*** Update ***I discovered that the camera is firmware. Was five versions out of date when it shipped to me. One of the fixes in that firmware fixed the issue with the Wi-Fi connection. It also seemed to make the parking mode work a little bit better. One of the things I discovered with the parking mode is that to turn it on is a very non-intuitive process. You have to go to the parking menu hover over one of the areas for the type of parking mode you want to turn on, press okay and do it settings and then exit the menu and it'll turn it on but there's no actual button or switch or command to just turn on parking mode. You have to follow that weird set of steps or use the app.Another complaint I have is that it seems like this camera picks up a lot more glare from my windows than my previous camera did. Having some polarizing film or something like that on the lens might be a good idea.*** Original review ***The app connects to the camera and then nothing happens. Just spins forever on both my pixel 6 pro (Android 12) and my cars android head unit (android 10)When I reached put for support they just said an update for the app would be coming and they would let me know.Parking mode doesn't turn on either. You just select it and the camera exits the menu for it. No option to turn it on.

This dash camera comes with a built in gps and WiFi. There is also a good app that comes with it. The video quality is much better than the old dashcam I have. It does take usb type C so if you had an existing hard wire kit like me, you'll need to get a new one. The rear camera also connects with a type C cable

So I was nervous at first and couldn’t decide which dashcam to purchase so finally decided on this one. I’m happy with the purchase and impressed with the picture quality on my phone. The actual picture on the we came screen could use improvement and was hoping the video on the SIM card was better and it was thankfully. Night vision could use improvement because if there is no light you won’t see much. Rear view camera is just as good as the front. The only thing I really don’t like is you need to be within 6ft in order to view camera footage via Wi-Fi on your phone. I have cheap cameras in my home where I’m able to view any place any time so I wish I could do the same with this dashcam but all in all I’m satisfied.

came in a box with clear instructions. My kids did all the unpacking and setup. I installed it in car and set it up in less than 5 minutes. video quality is awesome and works well in night vision too. Will upload a few videos soon. You will need to hang the wires that connect the cameras but the cable length is super long so should have no issues for car/suv or truck. highly recommended buy.
Valentina
This is my first dash cam. The image quality and night vision are great. I’m very happy with this camera. Also, Vantrue has a great customer service team. They helped me with a car charger problem I had.

I installed this in my truck with the hardwire kit. Very nice picture. I really like the ability to stream the video directly to my phone. I really like having the the rear camera too!

I am very pleased with this product to this point. As far as negatives, none to report. Only note, for wiring to extra vehiciles, just contact customer service and they will help you get, what you need. I will follow up review as I haven’t had a chance to use much. I am 74 years old and if I can hook it up, anybody can.

Overall the cameras pretty good. I can’t speak for installation I paid someone to install it so don’t hold me to that. Now the good,It’s fairly seamless once you have it set up it records anytime you’re driving both front and back no problem you don’t have to hardly ever mess with it which I love. The GPS and time display options are awesome, extra money, but awesome. Now the bad, well not that bad, but could be better. The user interface is so 2008. For the brand new model on a swanky new dash cam, the user interface really needs an update bad. It’s just wonky how you have to go in to do things on that on that InterfaceThe playback option and steps might be better than most but for me for that money is unacceptable. Bluetooth technology and quick connect technology has been around for a good 10 years so having to go in and very very manually have the camera in a special mode and then use their app in special mode just to get them to talk to each other and then wait forever for it to download the video is a bad feature.I would also like to be able to access it online then things would be so much simpler. It has a Wi-Fi option but you can’t use Wi-Fi to connect so I don’t understand why it has Wi-Fi.You have to use a mobile device to connect then download the photo to a special file format and then take your mobile device to your computer to upload it from that special file and of course I’m sure convert it just so that you can have it on your computer. How about just let me upload it directly to my iCloud account that would really be peaches. The camera quality is less than I expected it’s still good but it’s less than I expected I was expecting 4K not 4k - hd = 720Bottom line:Should you buy it? That’s up to you I don’t tell people what to buy and what not to buy like a lot of idiots that do reviews. You have the benefit of my perspective, use it as you will.Would I buy it again? Probably not however, I don’t know what I would buy in place of it because the others that I looked at are not as good as this one so you do the math..I suck at math

Ive been using the vantrue camera brand for many years now and they never disappoint. For starters out the box you get a beautiful camera with 4k capabilities and built in wifi that allows you to download and watch videos previously recorded. This x4s also comes with a rear camera that comes in handy because what would be the point of just getting footage from the front of the car. It wouldnt be any help if you get rear ended. Vantrue is a super easy to use camera that is plug and play ready to go out the box. If you run into issues with sd cards these cameras do notnlike sandisk. Ive had better luck going with samsung and ran into no problems. Over all this dashcam is great to record the front and rear of your vehicle. There are also options to hardwire it to your car so you can have 24:7 recording.I recommend buying a 128gb sd card or higher, depending on your driving habits you can get about 3-4 days of good videos

The image of the front and rear cameras is not high performance, and the adhesive tape of the suction plate and rear camera for installation does not work and the camera falls off. And the cord of the accessory is also quite cheap, the connector is very bad, and the electricity doesn't connect well. For the time being, the value and price of this product are not balanced and I think it's a very inferior product.

I was impressed with the service after I left this original review when Cathy Zhuo @VanTrue contacted me to get the issue I had resolved. I was happy to have a working dash cam and have been very happy with this VanTrue X4S

Good camera for the price, picture and video quality are pretty good. My 1 complaint is that if you have the rear camera plugged in you can't use a mirror mount you have to use the window mount thats provided. The power cord plugs into the window mount, if you don't run a rear camera then you can plug the power straight into the camera

This camera is good quality, it's not a flimsy model like the dash cams you see in the $100 price range. Its reliable, it records the second you turn on your engine and stops when it turns off. I did order the obd II port for easy installation and connection to power and it has not caused me any drainage to my cars battery 5/5

The things I like- good video quality- can connect to my phone- dual camera setup- parking mode abilityThe things I don’t like- if you’ve got the constant power hookup and don’t want the camera to record you have to remember to turn it off and on again- there have been multiple times now that I’ve pressed the button to “lock” the video so it saves it as an event but then it did not actually save it- there are very limited instructions and a lot of the buttons are not intuitive- I cannot figure out how to get the parking mode to turn off without turning the parking mode off completely, I just want it to go back to normal recording modeOverall I am not very impressed by this dash camera. I was hoping to use it more as a parking camera but it is incredibly finicky and I hate that it’s not easy to turn parking mode on and off. If you’re looking to just have it setup to go while you’re driving it might be okay. I personally don’t think it was worth it to hookup the constant power supply. Half the time I drive I don’t bother to turn it on because I’m afraid of forgetting to either turn it off or into parking mode

The quality of this dash cam is fantastic. The app is easy to use. Only issue I have is with the rear camera. In the dark it isnt the best. Day time seems fine though. But the front camera is amazing both day and night.I tried so many cameras before finding this one. I bought a 2nd for my husbands car!!Last picture is a screen shot from the rear camera. Not as clear at night but will still do its job of in an accident.

I recently threw away my blackvue and decided to shop for a 4k dash cam. Came across this brand and was comparing it with another along with the blackvue. I was pretty skeptical of the price being so cheap that the camera wouldn't be good. Figured I'd give it a try due to the great reviews.I thought set up was going to be easy since I've already done it before. Wiring the car was a breeze. What I disliked wat the orientation of the cable for the rear camera. I wired my front dash to the driver side and the rear camera to the passenger side. The wire is VERY long so you don't have to worry about making it too tight. I also don't like the suction mount. I've never came across a suction mount of any kind that stays sturdy on the glass. They should create the 3m tape on for the camera mount. Anywho, set up on the firmware was confusing. It wouldn't connect to my camera and it took a very long time for it to set up for the rear camera because it wouldn't read it. The thing I dislike of the firmware is the constant disconnect when connected to my iphone. Otherwise, camera quality is great and price is way better than blackvue

This is the first dash cam I’ve owned and I’m very happy with it. I did a good bit of research before I ordered and found this one to be the best camera with the best features for the price. The camera itself has worked flawlessly since I’ve owned it.There is more good news! If anything goes wrong, you don’t have to worry. The support for this camera is outstanding. After three months, the camera began to cycle itself on and off. I tried everything I could to fix it including updating the firm ware. Since I couldn’t resolve it, I reached out to Vantrue support and am very pleased to report that they (“Roxanne”) responded in less than 24 hours and began to help me troubleshoot by email. We exchanged four or five emails with Roxanne suggesting I try different remedies and me reporting back. The last test was to disconnect the camera from the windshield and plug it directly into a wall power plug. I took it off the GPS Receiver mount and plugged it into the wall and the camera worked fine. This led me to suspect that the GPS Receiver mount had gone bad. I reported my conclusion to Roxanne and she readily agreed to replace the GPS Receiver mount under warranty with no hassle. The replacement shipped within 24 hours and I received it directly from China in two weeks. I installed the new GPS Receiver mount and the problem was solved! I thank Vantrue Roxanne for all her speedy support and sticking with it until the problem was diagnosed and a new part sent out. I’m very pleased that I chose Vantrue!

The Vantrue X4s is my third Dash Cam in the past 5 years. My first Dash cam was Vantrue N2 purchased in 2017 which is still working fine (second Dash Cam was another brand and did not last long). Needing a rear window camera and after some online search and review checking, I was convinced that the Vantrue dash cams are the best value for my money, so I purchased the Dual X2s. This Dash cam is full of useful features plus a 4K front camera with 3” display. I can select a single view of front, or rear camera or PIP (front and rear) by touch of a button. On-screen menu setup is easy. X4s has WIFI connection for phone connection to setup and video download using iPhone or Android if one chooses to do so (I don’t). The only thing that is missing is the cabin camera which I wish was available for X2s but not a deal breaker, I can use my N2 for in cabin recording if I really need one. In my opinion, Vantrue products present terrific value and quality. Support is available by e-mail and response is within 12 to 24 hours. High-quality product and value.

I bought this after doing watching YouTube reviews. It lives up to be a great dash cam. Easy to use and great image quality. Front and rear cameras are outstanding. I will bet additional mounts and wiring for the other vehicles in the house. Would certainly recommend this product.

This is my first dash camera. The installation process for the camera was a breeze. The camera itself was easy to use, however, I had a little trouble connecting the camera via Wi-Fi at first. I have not used the camera much, therefore, I can’t comment on the quality and durability of the dash camera in the Texas heat Overall I am happy with the camera.

I purchased this dash cam after purchasing the previous model, which was also great quality. I found myself wanting to upgrade specifically to add the rear camera. Upgrading also provided better front camera optics (other reviewers have already provided comparisons). Overall highly recommend upgrading to (or starting with) this camera. The way I look at it, this could be the difference between being deemed at fault vs not at fault in a car accident.

I’m not a tech guy but i thought this was very easy to set up and use. I really like having both the front and rear view cameras. It's easy to install and comes with a pry tool to help with running the cables. The front camera has an adjustable mount that it's to rotate/move to change your camera angle. The read camera is fixed but still provides wide-ranged coverage out of the rear of the vehicle. I figured out the controls after maybe 15 minutes and found the whole thing to be quite intuitive. I’ve been impressed with the video quality and ease of use. I feel much safer having this on my vehicle.

Initially I was worried that my videos had a blue hue; USER ERROR as i forgot to take the front protective film off lol.I am an existing Vantrue customer, so I had no worries about quality and was surprised with the product and package and included items. The Suction cup is really good quality; includes a USB-C cable to go with your front Lighter charger cable. The rear camera cable is really long and great for hiding and includes a trim tool to hide the wire as well.Video quality is why I purchased this item to upgrade to a higher quality video where you can easily read the plates while driving in the videos.AMS

if there is a setting for night vision i am not seeing it. the quality of the night time rear is too dark to see anything.

it is the same as the prior one, which works fine. I just wish it felt a little more solid.Overall this is an upgrade I am happy with.

Really good front and back cameras. Included wifi makes transferring files easy. 7/24 hour parking mode is a great extra feature. I also like the fact that it can withstand high temperatures. My previous cam from another manufacturer would always overheat and shut down.

Quick set up. Photo and video quality is fantastic. My boyfriend who installs cameras for a living is quite impressed. I love the app connection so I don't have to remove the sd card to download data. Easy to use straight forward app. These are a few screenshots from the app. You can see that you can take stills and videos. I used this feature as the passenger. Just take note that the video on the camera and the wifi on the phone lag slightly so it gives you a few seconds to take that perfect shot.

Bought directly from vantrue. Camera was good when it worked x4s duo. After about 2 months in Florida, the camera started messing up by constantly rebooting and not recording. I tried a new memory card and updating the camera to no success. Other vantrue camera N4 3 channel is still working, tried that memory card in the x4s duo and still doesn't work. Camera is just broke, so I attempted to contact customer support to fix or replace and that was totally useless. This company ghosted me. ..What 12 month warranty! NO RESPONSE whatsoever... Crappy Nonexistent service. Now going through credit card for dispute. Oh yeah, wifi app sucks, slow and buggy...Camera was good when it worked buy they don't stand behind it, so try another.

I had an older dash cam from Vanture in the past and decided it was time to upgrade.Although my previous camera worked great and still does, this newer model is a huge improvement. The video quality is excellent, it was super easy to set up, and I really appreciate having the rear camera as well. The video is crystal clear and it covers the range that a driver would want it cover. The suction of the mount is also excellent.I feel so much safer having both the front and rear camera so that if anything were to happen I know the facts would be recorded. I tested the wifi option and it worked great, but I do not typically use it as I am using Android Auto most of the time and not looking at my phone.I would highly recommend this camera for anyone that wants the piece of mind having a dash cam provides. As for my older model, I have given that one to my daughter and now I can feel better knowing that is covered in the event of any accidents as well.

This dash-cam is an upgrade from their previous models. They even include stickers that you can put on your car to deter people who plan to commit insurance fraud.Build Quality: Very good. The wires that they come with are also very beefy which is nice. Thin wires might snag and rip or even get damaged over time. The connectors are also very secure which is nice. Otherwise the dash-cam might get turn off while you’re driving. The 3 inch LCD screen is also very useful for programming and reviewing footage. But honestly I would rather use their app or a computer to review the footage. They also include a usb outlet built into the ac 120 volt charger.Video Quality: I didn’t get to test all the video modes cause I didn’t feel the need to but the 4k (30fps), 2k (60 fps), and 1080p (120 fps) all worked very well. For the most part I opted to stick with the 2k setting so that I still had a pretty good frame rate for when I’m reviewing the footage. The higher the frame rate the more details are captured when reviewing the footage which might be more important than 4k sometimes. Either way you have 3 options to run with for the front camera. For the rear your stuck with a 1080p (30 fps) camera but honestly that is more than enough for day to day driving. It’s not like anyone is using their dash-cam to shoot a movie. For the recording you have the option of 1,2 or 3 minutes loop recording. If you want to quickly download the footage I recommend the 1 minute setting especially if you’re recording in 4k since the files are a lot bigger. Also as you can see from my video it works well even on cloudy/rainy days.App: The app works very well for me at least. The only complaint that I have is that for the live video it’s very choppy and a bit blurry. But when reviewing the footages the videos are very clear. You also have the option to sync the videos onto your phone which I really appreciate. It’s save you the time from having to plug the camera into a laptop or your phone to show an officer or your insurance company.Install: The wires were very long and made it easy for me to install it in my 4Runner so it should be fine for all cars and SUV. Just remember that if you plan to hardwire the camera it’s better to connect it to something that turns on when the car is on otherwise it may drain your car battery. They will always say it they have a voltage cut off but I personally wouldn’t trust it. Other than that install was pretty easy as long as you know how to tuck the wiring under the headliner and have the knowledge to remove the a pillar of your car. But be careful of how you do the wiring around the a pillar, you don’t want to wrap the wire around the air bags because it may prevent it from deploying correctly. But beside all that every thing was pretty straight forward.

I'd like to first point out that I'm a bit of Vantrue fan boy, most of my dashcams recommendation to friends and family are made by Vantrue, and I have good reasons. My previous dashcam was X4 but decided to upgrade because I needed a rear cam, and X4S duo seemed like it would fit my need. In term of video quality and resolution, they both are comparable, and don't think one is better than the other. Features wise, X4S has upper hand, and you can now control it with an app over wifi. X4 was also starting to giving me issues and timestamp kept getting reset. After I received X4S, I upgraded the firmware right away, which was an easy process. You basically grab the firmware from Vantrue's website, place it on the sd card and connect it with USB power (not to a computer).I have my default resolution set to 3840x2160P@30fps because it's skipping frames with 2560X1440P@60FPS, probably due to the memory card. Something to keep in mind. I suggest getting the optional hardwire kit and GPS mount for showing location and speed. I also liked that you can set the rear cam to be the default view, and turn off auto screen shut off, it can basically act as a rear view mirror. Overall, I don't have much to complain just like their previous generation X4.

It works great when it works as far as I know of cause I’m not trying to be in another accident this year. Some odd reason the backup cam does not come on all the time very random I have to keep unplugging it from the base and plugging it back in. The front picture is great the back not to much unless it’s just the angle of my car window that could play a factor. But it works.
Jordan
Great dash cam, really good quality and the WiFi ability works well. Definitely comes in handy having the ability to pull up videos on your phone.

Used it for a few days now … easy to install …. Good quality product and instruction manuals are clear … wifi is pretty useful and easy

I've used an older Vantrue dash cam that served me well for about 2-3 years. I was not intending to replace it until I came across this dash cam that offered a compromise for app features without requiring a subscription or major price jump. The app is a little finicky, but it's new so I fully understand the hiccups. Regardless, once I figured it out it has been easy to use ever since. The front and rear camera recording quality is great, but that wasn't a surprise. This is a recommended buy.

Noteworthy Qualities:1. all power source is USB-C. Longest USBC cable supplies is a 20-footer (see picture of manual)2. "rear" camera is stick-on and rotatable. You can actually use it as a "reverse camera" if you stick it in the appropriate vantage point. The camera and display will turn on automatically when you power on your car.3. Packaging is great, Big Box retail quality. I point this out b/c this means it can be given as a wrapped gift. Not all Vantrue products have this feature.4. Video output confirmed to be 4k @ 30FPS. Subjectively, video quality is great in daylight. Nighttime video quality is better than the handful of dashcams I have tried (subjective opinion). Vanture as a company seems to have solid video quality output as this is my 2nd product from same MFG.Further Comments:Recommended buy for a solid product. My use case is a dash-cam for SUV, replacing an old 2019-ish model of same Brand. You can use either the main camera solo, or combine it with a secondary camera. I suppose secondary camera is for the Gig-Economy drivers, but we use it as a rear-end dash cam. Interestingly, it can be used as a back-up camera too, but our car already has that feature. Install is the same as other dash cams. Main camera uses suction for the front windshield. Secondary camera can only be stuck on with the supplied adhesive. You then have to run the USB-C power source from the camera, hide it out of sight within the car, and reach a power source. Power source can be the supplied "Cigarette Hole Thingy" or your car's has USB/USBC output slots. Powering on your car automatically powers on the camera which will automatically record over old data. Our use case is motorvehicle accident documentation, as having the footage makes the (USA, Los Angeles) liability process always in our favor. Yes, I can attest to experiencing these proceedings with a dash cam. We can also sometimes serendipitously catch "interesting" footage while on the road which is also neat. Examples include a Space X rocket launch (thought it was North Korea coming at us at the time), Military Plane close flybys for airshows, and other people's car accidents (from mistakes) to teach my kids.Things to consider for other buyers:1. Both cameras use USBC power sources. The secondary power cable is a USBC to USBC 20 foot cable. The supplied power adapter has a unremovable USBC cable, but an open USB-A 2ndary slot. So if you wanted to power both cameras from the supplied power source, you would need a USBC to USBA adapter to utilize the 20 foot cable.2. Don't cheap out on SD card quality. I'm glad Vanture didn't supply the SD card for this reason.3. I need to figure out a bracket system that can hold the camera anchored to my rear view mirror. I've had no problems with the suction mount as of now, but I just don't trust suction cups and sticky pads in general. This addition is TBD!

I upgraded from the Vantrue S1 4k front a rear camera and I am glad I did. The camera was bigger than my S1, but the picture and the video quality more than made up for it. It does not block your field of vision. I was extremely happy with the suction cup mount option, as I live in Las Vegas, and I like the idea of being able to easily disconnect the camera on the extremely hot summer days. The rear camera was easy to install, although it would be nice if that was a suction mount too. The camera setup and menu were very easy to navigate and user-friendly. It was pretty much a plug-and-play setup. I do recommend if you encounter any issues at all go to the manufacturer's website and make sure you have the latest firmware installed for both the front and rear camera software, the instructions are located on the website with the downloads. I had issues with my old camera, not this one and I had to contact Vantrue customer support, they are the best support team I have ever dealt with. So, if you do need to reach out, I promise your issue will be resolved. If you are looking for a high-quality user-friendly product, I highly recommend this camera!

I think this is my 4th or 5th vantrue dash cam. I keep upgrading them. Unboxing these reminds me of unboxing an iPhone. Very nice. Easy setup and install. Really like the rear cam for those rear end collision. Very impressed.

Everything I like about the camera except the app it's useless

Great video. Got the seperators GPS mount. So far so good. Easy install too with the provided tool.

A few people here have said that if you use the camera itself and not worry about the App, then it’s a 5 star product; I agree. The camera is great quality and definitely an upgrade from the other products I’ve had (the X4 and X3 with Wi-Fi). The UI on the X4S camera is more clean looking compared to the X4 and that’s always a plus. Also what others have said, a way to make this the complete package and to take advantage of the advertised wifi feature is to have a way to have that Wi-Fi enabled at all times without manually going into the settings to turn it on and then connect. The app also needs some work with the playback as I can’t zoom in on videos like I do normally when viewing videos on my iPhone. It’s almost there as a complete package. The camera itself I rate 5 stars, as a whole, I’d give it a 4 to 4.5 because of the App.

I own several cameras by Vantrue, they are all quality. This is my first wifi enabled version, connects to my phone easily and stays connected. Camera quality at 4k looks great, highly recommend getting one. The software functions flawlessly, no issues with setup or reviewing footage.

Upgrading to this Vantrue from a Viofo A119 Pro. I installed the dash cams about a week ago and installation was easy with my CRV since I could tuck the cables under the weathering strips and headliner. I do wish they included a suction cup style mount for the rear camera if I ever want to replace it because I still haven’t been able to remove the glued-on mount of my Viofo. Every video says to use floss, but maybe the floss I have just isn’t as strong. I do miss the form factor of the Viofo since it hugged the windshield, but the bigger screen on the Vantrue is nice. I kind of wish the screen could tilt like a DSLR so that I could see it better from where I installed it to the right of my rear-view mirror. I can see a lot more out the back than with just my rear-view mirror. One thing that is missing is a brightness setting so I can't lower it for use at night. I just have it set to turn off after a couple of minutes. The camera UI is easy to navigate, and the buttons are well placed. The top power button also doubles as the emergency save footage button. It’s the only button on the top so when I really need to press it, I won’t get confused about which button to press. My mom has an Aukey dash cam and it’s almost impossible to see the labels of the buttons when it’s dark. The Wi-Fi feature is also nice, and the app works well with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. It’s good to use it to review videos on my phone, but I don’t see myself using it much because the camera turns off when I turn off my car and with gas prices this high, I don’t want to be idling in my car just to keep the dash cam on. I have an SD card reader in my glove box I use to quickly transfer the files to my phone for viewing on my computer.I’ve been using the front camera at 4k 30FPS and the rear camera at 1080p 30FPS with the default video settings. In bright sunlight the front camera footage is very good. I can read a license plate that’s maybe up to 15 feet away. Even in the dark the footage looks nice and since most license plates and signs are reflective it helps make them readable. The rear camera is a little more average in quality. It’s not as clear and sharp as the front camera but works well to film what’s happening behind me.There is a warning about not using Sandisk SD cards, but I put a 256GB Sandisk High Endurance Micro SD card in it, but no problems so far.I don’t use the parking features so I can’t really comment on that.

Everything works great. The only thing is it doesn’t work with a power bank. I connect it but it doesn’t power on. I’ve checked if maybe it’s the power bank that isn’t working correctly but I’ve connected my other devices and I have no problem. So for some reason the camera doesn’t get charge from the power bank.

This never powered on from the start. Tried to contact Vantrue for customer support and no response. Luckily Vantrue is allowing me to return.

Have been using for about a week now and so far it is working great. Have some issues connecting with the app but I think that is probably more due to me not quite figuring it out yet. Only thing to note is the power is in the suction cup so if you want to use the rear camera you have to use the suction cup. I live in vegas so I was trying to get one I could hang from my mirror with an additional mount. We will see how it holds up to the heat. It is wired to my upfitter switch now and working well.

Would only let me upload 1 video....but both cameras front and back are excellent in quality and an easy installation

I Would give this camera five stars if the Wi-Fi would connect automatically every time I turn the camera on. Unfortunately, I have to go in and set the Wi-Fi every time I activate the camera.

Coming from Viofo, this is so much easier to set up, connect, monitor, and use. And it doesn’t lose date/time every time the car turns off!

I have the Vantrue X3 previously, it was a decent model with wifi but after few years the battery slowly deteriorates that causes the date/time to delay, so it was time for me to try something new. Bought the X4s because it have pretty much everything I'm looking for, front/rear cameras, wifi build-in, super capacitors instead of batteries, and 4K resolution on front camera. What impresses me the most is the camera quality, under direct sunlight and night time. It's able to adjust exposure very quickly under the sun and pick up the right details. At night time it's able to pick up great details too. Overall, great dash cam!

I have been using it for a week now. It records well and is able to capture even plate numbers. You can download dash clips using wifi or using the sd card. Overall very good camera. The camera is about the size of a credit card.

Living in an area with many tailgaters (and the police don't seem to care) you need something like this. Some of these huge trucks ride your bumper and if they can't stop, they'll hit you and you'll run into whatever is in front of you.The camera is easy to install. You need a micro SD card. The video quality is excellent. Wifi is an added benefit.

Could not get my phone to connect to either of the two that I purchased. I have an IPhone 12 and after reading a review that had a customer looking for help for a week I decided just to return it and get myself something that works. Hopefully

This is all in all a quality product -- so far so good at least. From the smooth overnight shipping, to thoughtful packaging and user manuals presentation, and of course the product design and performance itself, I'm honestly impressed A to Z.  It also comes with a plastic tool which you can use to pop out the SD card and tuck the wire out of sight in your car, that I think is going an extra mile and didn't go unnoticed.  The suction cup, by the way, is as sturdy as a suction cup can be. You turn the tab to tighten as opposed to flipping, making it more durable and reliable. You do need to supply your own micro SD card which you, by the way, should insert before powering it up, lest you get an invalid SD card message when you format it.  I use one with 128 GB but you can go up to 256 GB.  Another tip is to make sure you remove the magnetic lens protector film, or you get blue tinted video like I did initially.  The default resolution is 4K at 30 fps.  No complaints about the video quality, it's all right on point.  But I prefer 1080 at 60 fps as it's more smooth and practical for me.  The screen display is pretty much the entire back area of the dashcam; therefore, it feels large. The 4 navigation buttons are ergonomically positioned, and the most important button, the emergency event save button, is unambiguously and intuitively placed at the top right where a camera shutter button normally is.  I like that a lot.I also like the USB C connection to the device, so it's a snap to connect.  Also 2 separate cords are provided, one for the car cigarette light and one for the USB A.  It's very nice you have the option of connecting the power cord to the suction cup apparatus which in turn powers the dashcam.  As a geek or sorts, I appreciate these design details.  That being said, the range of movement for adjusting the camera angle is rather limited. But I suppose it's not an issue unless you have a lamborghini. I didn't try the parking mode as my car doesn't have constant power when the engine is off. I did play with the time lapse mode which may have a special use case outside of parking mode and I'll keep that up my sleeve.I did attempt to contact customer service / tech support just to get a feel. So there's an online form you fill out and you'll be contacted within 24 hours.  In my case, it was within 10 hours via email.  It's OK but I prefer if there's a live chat available. One negative so far is the Wifi for the app.  The dashcam can host its own Wifi network so you can connect your smartphone to it to change settings and playback videos.  Connectivity is flaky - it's been frustrating that sometimes the SSID shows up, sometimes not.  But it's not one of my use cases anyway.  I prefer to view and video on a big screen as opposed to on the dashcam or a smartphone. The price point is also on the high side, but that normally comes with quality.  Overall, I feel confident to recommend this dashcam to my friends and family.

I was using the X4 dashcam for quite awhile and did not like the night capabilities of it since a majority of my driving was in the dark. The X4S completely solved these issues and more. The color accuracy is completely better, quality viewing distance increased, and a back camera was added. The ports were changed from a mini-USB to a standard USB-C which is in line with modern standards. The suction cup was strengthened a lot, I had issues with the X4 falling off the windshield if the car heated up too much while that has yet to happen with the X4S.The first two images provided are a comparison of the X4 at +1.0 exposure and the X4S at +0.0 exposure respectively. The quality is just completely different. The front camera has an improved sensor running at 8MP which can view details at a farther distance, shown in the third picture. The license has partial info blocked for obvious reasons. Lastly was have an image of the back camera, it runs at 2MP and is similar to other higher end dual dashcams. The only issue would be the app. The basic function of downloading the videos to your phone works perfectly but the app also acts as a remote for the dashcam when connected. This remote feature is very much in its early stages and I am sure it will improve for people that might want to use that feature. I personally only use the WiFi connection to download videos and have not had any issues with that.Overall I recommend this dashcam if it is within your price range, really happy with the improvements from Vantrue.

This is my second Vantrue Dash cam and it has been pretty good so far.It comes packaged very nicely. Most importantly, the super capacitor in this is essential. I am at a place where there is extreme heat and pretty bad cold and a battery left standing in the sun/cold would be killed within a season. The super capacitor is a must have in my opinion. The 4K is good for reading license plates that are a bit further away. 60 fps is arguably also useful, since you get more frames in, in case of a critical scenario. Maybe we can have 4K 60fps in the front and the back at some point in the future! The f/1.7 and f/2.0 lenses (front and back) are good fast lenses, especially for low light. The 3inch LCD is not touchscreen, which is perfect, because I suspect the touchscreen would eventually malfunction if left parked in extreme heat too long. Physical buttons for the win.The max memory supported says 256GB, which is plenty if you're using it to record unfortunate events but might not be enough for scenic drives. Perhaps 512GB might work despite the specified max. Has anyone tried it?I would also like to try this out on a motorcycle, perhaps I'll update the review if I get a chance to try itI'm going to take a 1500 mile road trip in the summer and should be able to put this camera through its paces in detail.Overall, it does the job and looks great!

Great quality video from both the front and back cameras. Installation was quick and easy. Cords were long enough to conceal in trim.

This product was difficult to use hard to set up and wasn't as advertised so I returned it

This dashcam is very good at all levels of recording inside the car picture perfect clear with a fisheye view which is all you can ask for plus you can see who's driving the car behind you a nice feature. The front view is just plain excellent in day or night view.
Vantrue Customer
I purchased this dash cam after reading a lot of reviews and watching a multitude of idiot driver YouTube videos. The camera quality front and rear are absolutely amazing. The camera is easy to set up and get wired in (I highly recommend the VanTrue wiring kit, unless you're okay with the cigarette lighter adapter). The windshield mount is great because I can move the front facing cameras between my vehicles with ease. I really like having the app on my phone where I can transfer video over from the camera without disconnecting it and bringing it in my house. The night vision of the camera is amazing and crystal clear. No halos or light blobs from headlights in either the front or rear cameras. The sun directly hitting the lens also doesn't discolor, distort, or darken the video. Overall, I am extremely happy with this camera and have recommended it to several of my friends. I'm pretty well convinced this is the best camera on the market, from a price and quality aspects.

I was just in a car wreck this past week - just parked at a light - waiting to turn left - and this guy came and rammed the left side of my car. WTF! Not only this, but he then proceeded to flee the scene. I really wish I had this camera, at that moment. Just installed it a couple of days ago, and it has put my mind more at ease.PROS:-The quality is great on both cameras - though the back is just 1080p still looks great- and the front is 4K - You can also adjust the exposure to your liking. (I thought the back picture was perfect, but the front needed more exposure to make it just right)-Super easy setup. I thought at first that I'd just install the front camera - and leave the rear camera for a moment I had tons of time to handle the installation. However, it was super easy to do - so I went ahead and installed both. The cable to the rear was more than long enough for my 2015 RAV4. And I love that the rear camera can be tilted up or down - to adjust for the incline in the window it will be attached to.-Has it's on WIFI (which you need to turn on each time you use it) ... which allows for live viewing of both cameras on your phone. As well as easy access to download files to your phone (though I recommend if you will be downloading many, to move the card to a PC SDcard slot - or connecting your camera to a PC)CONS:- my only real grip has to do with not being great with Apple. My iMac and Macbook Pro won't recognize the format on the Memory Card (though it is ExFat) ... however I do have a PC laptop (Lenovo) that i can connect the camera to - to have better access to the files when i need to download all of them. (I also plan just to buy a small SDcard adapter to plug into my Lenovo - to make accessing the memory card even easier.FINAL thoughts:- Definitely recommend this camera. I'm been very satisfied with the purchase - and feel much better now having installed it.

Great dash am. This was the first dashcam that I actually like. It comes with all you need to install and set up. Super easy to hide the cables with the tool provided. Just use the tool to push the cable. .

First of all, I love anything with USB-C. This is way more convenient for me to use it after unplugging from the car.The picture quality is very good compares to my old Cowon AW2. I can easily read any nearby car plate from the video playback. (I'm using 1080P@60 front&rear at night)The size of the unit is a also surprise for me, I have attached some pics to show that. However, I do wish there would be a better to mount the camera. After weeks of usage, it works pretty well, but I think the parking mode cable or the GPS unit should be included to attract more customers at this price tag or give it the ability to record 2K@60FPS both front and rear at the same time.

Video quality is very good night vision is good. The app works very well and installation was quick and easy. The front cord was 2 feet short after routing the cable out of sight I had to purchase an extender cord to make it work. The rear cord was long enough for my mounting purposes. The pros outweigh the cord problem thus my 5 star review.
James Bray
paid extra for the Wi-Fi to phone feature but it doesn't connect. USELESS RIPOFF

The camera quality is not worth the money, it is very difficult to use and the night vision is not clear as what I expected! I Don’t recommend to anyone!

Very high quality product. Great, sharp and clear vids. Worth the premium price.

The install was fairly straight forward on this one (though it was the first time I had ever installed a rear cam for a car). Once the car started, everything ran very smoothly. Camera image quality is excellent. Haven't had too many hiccups at all and the footage is all easily reviewable and retrievable (whether remotely or via the dash cam interface itself). Still have a ways to go before seeing how truly reliable it is but so far so good!
