Front dashcam works well, other than the front camera being locked into lower resolutions when using inside and rear cameras.My rear camera is DOA and will not connect, so half the system is not working. Poor quality control.

This is my 3rd Dash Cam that I have owned and it is by far the best one! I love that it has 3 cameras. The camera quality is great! License plates are crystal clear.The only drawback to the camera is that it is not wifi capable which means you have to take the micro SD card out and review in a computer or use the provided usb cable from the camera to the computer. You can still pull it up on the camera itself if needed at the scene of a crash or other incident where you need to show the police. It is also easy to trim the clips down to make them easier to send as well.My last one was wifi enabled (Nexar) but I had way too many issues with the camera not connecting to my phone, not actually recording my drives and logging “hard brakes” during continuous drives without where I didn’t even need to brake. Given the issues I had with the wifi enabled cameras I wanted something that I knew wouldn’t have those issues. In that respect, this camera supersedes any wifi enabled camera that I’ve owned.The quality of the camera itself is great, it isn’t flimsy. I had seen some other complain that there wasn’t enough cable for the rear camera, I didn’t have that issue at all. My guess is that they didn’t follow the recommended installation for the rear camera (I actually had excess and drive a 2022 Mazda CX-5).I highly recommend the Vantrue N4!

This is the second Vantrue N4 that I purchased. The first one was decent, and worked fine while hard-wired to the ignition. The second one has had issues ever since it was installed with hard-wire to an always on fuse since I wanted to use the parking mode feature. Both cameras were professionally installed at my local Best Buy. Parking mode simply doesn’t work right. Like others have said, in parking mode it only records about 10 seconds and then shuts off. Jumping in the car, starting it up, and then driving off doesn’t wake the camera up for some reason and it doesn’t start recording unless you power cycle it by turning it off and then back on manually. The g-sensor is garbage, you have to literally bang on the camera with yours hand to get it to wake up and start recording. Also, while driving, it will periodically turn itself completely off…no recording or anything.Now, about customer support. They are practically worthless. You will spend many days going back and forth with emails answering the same questions every time with someone who barely even speaks English. You basically have to prove to them there is something wrong and then keep proving it to them by sending videos and descriptions of what’s happening. After a couple of weeks if you kept that up and got lucky, they will finally tell you to return the camera and everything else that can in the box…meaning you have to completely have everything uninstalled via another trip to your local Best Buy or wherever if you had it professionally installed and pay for that again out of your own pocket. No partial returns of just the defective camera.100% customer satisfaction is a complete lie. If you ever have issues with the camera, plan on having a miserable time of getting help or warranty service through Vantrue.

I was a hit and run victim. I bought a different model. It did not continuously record as the car was running. It required you to start the camera. USELESS. My bad.This camera runs and records continuously while the car is on. It also has an option to record while the car is off, using a battery.The peace and mind I have as I drive is absolutely worth the money.The hit and run driver? well he retuned to the scene and told the police I hit him and he drove off out of fear for his life. He was about 6'7" 300 pounds. Im 5'9" 180. UNBELIEVABLY they wrote me a ticket. He then sued me and my insurance company settled giving him $45000 dollars for injuries. And I had many court appointments and legal fees fighting this.The camera, get it and protect yourself!

This camera is literally the worst, every time I have went to pull footage off of it the footage is not there, my car was broken into tonight and it didn’t record the people in the car but it recorded me getting into the car, I am sick of this camera not working and I am just going to buy a new and better one. Packaged well. Item as described except there’s some false advertising. This is marketed as a 4k camera. The hardware itself is a 5mp camera. The setting/software is there but the camera is incapable of filming at that resolution without a 8mp camera. Oh well. One of them after the fact revelations. I did do a firmware update that I uploaded on YouTube. Look for firmware update by Og Scythe.Like everyone said before, no wireless or remote connectivity.

We have this dash cam and rear camera installed in each of our vehicles and in 11 months of ownership they have been totally reliable. The camera is powered via the OBD hardwire charging cable for continuous power when desired such as parking in public places. We use 256 GB SD cards in the cameras that give a tremendous storage capacity for the videos on the highest resolution possible. As advertised, the camera is extremely heat resistance. One day in Moab, UT, the outside temperature was 108 degrees, so the heart from the sun shining directly on the camera must have been much more than the outside temperature. Even in this extreme environment the camera performed flawlessly.

I have spent a great deal of time looking at reviews and videos of the numerous dash cams available on the market. In general, several out there offer amazing quality videos at a diverse range of prices ($100-$500). In short, having any dashcam is way better than having NONE!Vantrue’s N4 3 channel cam is, in opinion, an amazing cam with very easy to use buttons and features. The video quality is incredibly clear, and although I was hesitant about getting the N4 that has the cabin cam (since I am not an uber/lyft driver), I think the interior is gradually becoming my favorite of the 3 cams!I already had a great dash cam (2 channel) which I was very pleased with, and to be honest the only reason I bought the N4 was because of its ability to rotate around its dash mount suction cup, so I can point the front cam toward the left window and the interior cabin toward the right window (or vice versa). Therefore, between both cams, I am effectively capturing every side in my car (front with my other cam), rear with both rear cams (old cam on the outside while N4 is on the inside) and the side windows with the N4. Now that I have both cams, I realized that the N4 does not freely rotate since there are wires on the inside of the dash suction cup mount. However, it can almost rotate 70-80 degrees so you can still point it sideways if you so desire. But once I used it (as intended – that is facing forward), I realized that the interior cam is simply fantastic! It not only captures crystal clear images of me driving the car, but it also truly captures all action visible from the side windows (without needing to rotate the cam!). It does this during driving as well as while parked!I would say the N4 offers the absolute best Parking Mode options!! It has G-sensor detection, motion senor, a combination of the two, and even low resolution continuous recording, as well as time lapse with two options 1 FPS and 5 FPS! I have not read about, seen, or experienced any other cam like that! You can actually connect it to an external power bank if you are worried about draining your battery – I did not experience any issues and since my cig lighter socket is hot – always on – I can use parking mode easily. But I truly want to hardwire it for a better look and for battery protection (since it has a unit that stops power if the battery level is too low).To summarize:This cam is amazing, and I highly recommend it.Pros: (features I love the best!)- Amazing video quality – (even smaller file sizes than others)- The microphone quality is honestly superior- The menu is so intuitive and very easy to navigate- The LCD is large enough to be comfortable to see (without obstructing your windshield much)- The Parking mode is the best of any cam I have read about or seen reviews of - Parking mode (when G sensor is on) will turn on the cam, even if it were off, to record 5 min if an impact is detected. This is fantastic. If you are worried about battery drainage, just turn it off, and it will only turn on if there is a rattle, shake and/or impact! But motion in this case will not turn it on (unless after it had turn on due to impact).- the motion detection is a real blessing. Both front and interior cams are sensitive to motion (but not the rear cam – and that’s ok since the interior cam captures motions of people walking behind your car – at which point all 3 cams record!)- It is seamless to switch between Parking mode and Normal driving. Actually you do not need to do anything! It is that smart! If action is minimal within 5 min, it will switch to P mode, if there is vibration and/or driving, it will switch to Normal mode. You can also push the OK button for that or long hold the leftmost button and it will switch to P mode (but you must be stopped).- The videos can actually be scrolled through easily on the LCD screen- The file name is the best feature in my opinion: besides having the labels of A, B, and C (Front, interior, rear cam, respectively), they added a P for when recording is during parking mode, and an N when driving normally. This I found to be the most helpful when reviewing the videos. Not all other cams do this.- There are so many great settings including exposures for the cam and sensitivity levels- so easy to remove the cam (and just unplug one cable – for the rear cam) since the power cable plugs into the dash mount- the manual is thorough and well writtenCons (things I wish were a bit different)- If you are wearing polarized sunglasses, you cannot see the screen at all. That’s not the case with my other dash cam. The angle of the LCD design is off 90 degrees. With this cam if I tilt my head 90 degrees I could see the screen whereas with my other cam if I tilt my head I cannot see the screen (but I can see it normally when my head is straight – the way it is supposed to be). The design of the LCD needs to be rotated 90 degrees.-I wish it had an option of a lower resolution with 60 FPS (like their N2 Pro)-The mount is NOT GPS – but they have one available – but there is no package to buy it with N4- I wish the hardwire kit was included (I do not care about including the microSD since those are easily available on Vantrue, but not so much that hardwire kit)- I wish there was a way to select a view without the two little mini views (i.e. one with three cams showing, then an option to cycle through each cam alone, and then an option to manually turn off the screen – it has 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min screen savers (off), and auto, but it would have been nice to have the manual option to shut off the screen and show single cam views. (my other cam does that).Other considerations that some may not like (but did not affect me):- It has No WIFI or ability to connect to your phone. I thought this would be an issue, but when I tried this features on my other cam, it was slow and my least favorite – and honestly the best was to view footage is on your computer. If you must view it on the cam, make sure you lock it and then go to events and it will be easy to find (it will have the letter E on it).- If you are parked and it is very hot/sunny outside, and there are lots of activity around your car (e.g. people walking, cars driving by), your cam may be recording nearly non-stop and will therefore get too hot and automatically shut off. I believe this is by design to protect both the cam from heat damage as well as your battery from draining. So Ideally If you are parked for too long (more than 2 hours) in the sun, consider hiding the cam in your glovebox and/or unplugging it. I tried to leave it on in my garage, and since it was not recording all the time, and it stayed on motion detection in the morning (so it stayed on).- It is hard for me to make the rear cam useful since it is supposed to be on the inside, but my car has a convertible soft top, and so if I place it on the rear seats, it will only capture the clouds (and not the electronic clouds – just the traditional ones in the sky).

Camera was easy to install and setup. The problem is, it didn't turn off or stop recording when I turned off the car. And it didn't turn on when I turned on the car. That's a very basic function (that it's supposed to have) that's not working. If I have to manually turn it on and off every time I get in and out of the car, it's just not worth it.

I was looking for a camera with a parking mode feature in response to a recent raft of thefts of catalytic converters and air bags. I ordered and compared three models: VanTrue N1, VanTrue N4, and Garmin Mini2. The N4 is overkill for my purpose--I don't need cameras inside the car or looking behind--though the N4 offers a higher resolution if I was to use only the front facing camera. The N1 won out--it's the least expensive and, in my overnight tests, actually turned on faster than the N4 when there was visible motion, such as a person or auto, came into view. The N1 also has a battery, though I haven't figured out how long it will work. One issue with both VanTrue models: the font in the diagram in the User Manual is so small as to require a magnifying glass! The Garmin detects movement in the vehicle but doesn't detect visible motion. At 1080, resolution isn't that good, and I'm interested in a higher resolution camera in the future.

I purchased this dashcam about a year ago, and I just got around to installing it. I purchased the hardwire kit too, but I did not use it yet. The daytime videos are crisp and the nighttime videos are quite clear too. Installation was quite easy. I just glanced at the manual briefly to set it up. I have watched some of the recorded videos and I am quite pleased with them.

I installed this afternoon. It took me about 90 minute. They include a plastic pry tool for hiding the wires which is very handy. The rear camera is perfect for a "vertical" truck rear window. I am using the cigarette lighter attachment to power everything. I turned on "collision + motion sensor" modes with "high" sensitivity. So far this mode seems excellent. My lighter socket has power even when the vehicle is parked. If I turn off the camera on arrival, then in this motion sensor mode, the camera comes back on If it detects motion, but goes off in less than a minute if further motion is not detected. Notable, the flashing "blue" light goes off too if there is no further motion detected. If both the screen is off AND the blue light is not flashing, it means the dashcam is not recording. This is good because it means it's not drawing any power. In that state, the only power being drawn is the LED light on the cigarette lighter piece itself. I'm cautiously optimistic the camera can be left in this mode indefinitely without draining down the battery. This means that I should not have to touch the camera at all ever (except to review footage or reformat SD card). Because in this mode it starts recording if the vehicle is moving but goes back to sleep if parked and no motion is detected. So when it's parked in my garage the camera will be sleeping but will wake up if it detects motion. So far, very happy with this dashcam!

Got N4 as a gift. Worked for 1 day then display stopped working. Contacted the customer service. After following their requests to update firmware, taking videos, they finally agreed to replace the camera (4 days later). However I will have to cover the return cost myself.Other than the customer service, the picture quality was pretty good during the day the camera was working. Everything was clear. I’m sure the camera would be great when it’s working.For a dash cam at this price rage to work for only 1 day, it is indeed disappointing. The experience with the customer service definitely made it worse.

In less than 30 days I have documented one panel truck driving erratically and almost hitting me and another SUV driving right down the center of the road straight at me instead of waiting on a trash truck to move. Thank goodness no accidents but panel truck pulled over by Ohio SHP and reported to ODOT. SUV was not pursued to contact police for their crazy driving. This will definitely protect me in the event someone actually does cause an accident!!!

Happy with the Vantrue n4. Installation went very smoothly. Took me about an hour to do a hardwire setup for all cameras. My first trip on the road captured a distracted driver that almost ran me off the road and reviewing the video afterwards, it was very clear and the dashcam player Vantrue provides for windows and Mac works very well to see all 3 cameras simultaneously.

This camera has less options then the N2. The N2 has WIFI and I assumed that the N4 has it as well. I would not have bought this thing had I known I could not pull videos off easily. Vantrue.. You need to go back to the drawing board on this one. Not good at all. Do not buy.....

Price is ridiculously high for what you get. There are other options out there that give you the same features and have WiFi Connectability to allow you to download videos to your phone. I’ve still not been able to figure out why sometimes it just stops recording. The camera will be on but it doesn’t record. Unless you see the blinking red light it’s not recording. I witnessed an accident and offered my dashcam video to the police for evidence. I quickly found out it was not recording at the time of the accident and looked like a fool. I would not waste your money especially when you can get another brand cheaper.

Ran into an issue at first because I didn't notice you have to turn the suction cup to the left to 'unlock' it, then turn it back right while applying pressure against the windshield to make it stick in place. Once that hurdle was cleared it's worked great though. In a 4-door sedan I have several extra feet of cord for the front and rear cameras after having routed it everywhere that I rolled up and tucked away.Video and audio quality both are crystal clear. I saw other highly-recommended brands had issues overheating (especially in parking mode) so I'm not bothering with that and just plugging it into the lighter for power only when the car is on, but I'll see here in the next couple months how it withstands blazing southern temperatures.

That’s my second vantrue dash cam, I had the N2 for a few years and it still works great, it was just time for an upgrade. The picture quality is excellent and having 3 video streams completely covers everything happening around you on the road. After 6 months my G sensor stopped working and customer support backed their product and send me a new camera. The whole process was very effortless. Good job!

The night vision is perfectly clear as well. Definitely recommend this camera system if you in the market.

The camera has excellent video quality. Sound quality could be a little better but whatever. What was absolutely disappointing, especially for the price tag on this, was the crappy suction cup used for the mounting base. I have had a couple other phone holders that the suction cup part was soft and tacky so it could adhere to surfaces really well without falling off. But this suction cup is so stiff that it ends up lifting up off the windshield regardless of the "suction" pressure it's supposed to have. It just did not matter how many times I cleaned the window and suction cup it just would NOT stay even without the minor weight of the camera (which the camera so super light weight) weighing it down to "make" it fall off.In the end I had no choice but to glue it to the windshield to keep it on there without it falling off every 30 seconds. Trust me I didn't really want to glue it but I had no other option because even some 3M Command strips didn't work either and I needed a good quality dash cam due to an aggressive driver incident that happened in the parking garage at my apartment complex.The attached photos are before and after the gluing of the mount. The first one shows how little the suction cup is actually attached the windshield and the other shows that this b**ch isn't coming off anytime soon. Please excuse the bit of dirt on the outside of the windshield.All-in-all just expect to get creative with the mounting of this product at best.

I Camera was easy to install but the hard wire kit listed with the camera on Vantrue was the wrong one. Had to order the correct one. The Camera is a type C USB, the one listed with the camera as an option is a Mini USB. So, make sure you get the correct Kit. The correct USB C hard wire kit received, now works on accessory mode with vehicle, work great.

Dash cam worked great when it worked. First one I got stopped recording after a week when the rear camera was plugged in. Once I disconnected it started to record again but just the front and cabin. Sent it back to get exchanged. Second dash cam worked fine for about 6 weeks then started dong what the first one was doing. Stopped recording and only started to work again after I unplugged the rear camera. Sent numerous email through Vantrue after doing troubleshooting but no response. Tried email them through their website request help and possible warranty but no response. Finally tried to email getting my money back but never a response. I’m baffled at how they get such great reviews. But this is one company and product I can’t recommend even to my worst enemy.Edwin

The motion detection feature, that is advertised, is not designed to work on the rear camera. One of the primary reasons I purchased this product was to provide security to bikes on the back of the car while parked. Additionally, customer service is non existent; multiple requests for information have gone unanswered.

This cam worked great for 5 months, then all of a sudden it started shutting down after two minutes. Common problem, there is an update that you have to do that can be quite tedious for tech challenged people. You have to contact Vantrue to get the proper update in a email. Nice product, but it comes with its red flags.

The first time I got this camera it did not work. I did send it back and they sent me a replacement. I am glad to see that this camera uses a USBC port. The install was super easy they give you enough cabling to make sure it will fit with you vehicle the night vision and quality of this camera surpasses many of the cameras I have had. It is nice to know that when I am at work my car is protected inside and out if somebody tries to break in or somebody hits my car. Would definitely recommend.

I won't rate the unit negatively, only the experience. I purchased a new unit, only to receive one that had been previously used/returned. The seals on the package had been torn and partially removed, the manual packaging was missing, the cords were unraveled with no ties and double sided tape sticker on rear facing camera was missing. The main unit itself was defective and the menu would not appear when button pushed. Not happy at all that they tried to sell this as a new unit. Returned immediately!

Ended up buying a SanDisk card, which absolutely refused to work in this. Bought second card - Vantrue brand, still refuses to work. You guys couldn't make your own card just work could you?Mother who lives far away cannot figure out the menus to format the card with the camera interface. Still drives with the camera which is not recording... will wait for my next annual visit to finish setting it up.Basically a complete setup design failure of a product. Do not buy this. Buys something with internal storage or something that works out of the box.Vantrue, would it kill you to prompt user to press a single button to format a new card when its inserted instead of that useless message you show? Did anyone besides your engineers use this product before you decided to sell it to the masses? Abysmal failure.Regret buying this. Will never look at another Vantrue product again.

I bought this last year after hearing/reading nothing but praise and great reviews! However, due to unforeseen events and me working from home I never had a chance to install it for a couple of months. When I finally did the quality seemed pretty good. But it stoped working after less than a week or two. I’ve tried using their support page on their website but it never has worked for me. Hopefully they will see this review and help remedy this situation.

I took a long time choosing the Dashcam that would be best for us without wishing to spend a fortune and it came down to the Vantrue N4.It comes with everything to get you started, the directions are straight forward and decided to go with the hardwire kit to maximise the Cameras full features. I also purchased the self-adhesive mount to minimise any possible shaking. All self-adhesive mounts including the rear camera come with a spare adhesive pad and there was even a useful tool in one of the boxes.Well worth the money and the free desktop software download is just brilliant.Registering the product online gained us 18 months of warranty instead of the usual 12 months.Very happy with the purchase

Bought this due to a NYT Wirecutter recommend and I'm happy with my choice. Easy to install and there are plenty of videos to walk you through a custom install showing no wires. I opted for the hardwire option to get the "OEM look" using the fuse for the power passenger seat in case something happened during wiring but had no issues. After spending about 20 minutes playing with the camera and going through the options I got it tweaked to where i wanted. On my first outing the camera picked up a speeding BMW doing at least 80 mph and captured the plate number clearly (I blotted it out for this pic). The daytime image quality is great. I gave it 3 stars on night vision because license plates are unreadable due to glare. I'm working with the exposure levels to try to get them readable. Overall, a great device and customer support is responsive. Now only the test of time will determine how durable it is. Remember to plug the power connection into the mount and the rear camera connector into the front camera, and, if you hardwire, use a fuse that's not critical to the functioning of the car.

I like the system and the setup. However, the rear remote camera now causes a short when plugged into the system and causes it to continuously reboot. I would like to get a new rear camera but they don't sell a replacement.

It would be more suitable to have a fast charging portable battery sold with it for 24hrs surveillance to avoid messing up with the new cars electric system.

I use the Vantrue N4 dash cam every day and I love it! It was easy to install and the picture and night vision quality is excellent. Also had a great experience with the Vantrue customer service team, they are very responsive and helpful. My dash cam had stopped working at some point and so I contacted their customer service. They responded immediately and sent me step-by-step instructions on how to resolve the issue. When the dash cam still would not turn on, Vantrue sent me a brand new dash cam as a replacement. I’m very happy with their customer service and the product. I would definitely recommend.

I cannot deny the image quality, but it’s physical dimensions are big. I mounted this in my new Toyota Venza and it looked ridiculously large on my wind shield. I wish it were a bit more discrete for safety reasons. The usb connector is inconveniently located on top of the suction mount which makes it hard to mount it near the roof liner because you need to twist the knob to lock the suction cup in place.I didn’t keep it due to the size because it presented a safety concern for me. I would recommend this if someone didn’t have a small windshield or have some place to mount it that doesn’t obstruct field of vision while driving.

For such an expensive camera it does very little if not less then some 100$ dash cams. Make sure to do some research. I didn’t but the review had it at 4 stars so I just bought it. Instant regret. The camera quality is ok but it has no battery and for some reason has no WiFi so you cannot connect it to you phone some of the instant recordings start late where in a real situation you would probably just miss everything. Do not buy this camera it’s just bad and not worth the money. If you want a really good one go with next base 622 it’s more expensive or vifo t130 it’s cheaper.

I am thoroughly impressed with this dash cam. I have 2, 1 in each of my vehicles, using the hardwire kit and GPS mount. The camera would be better if there were some form of Wi-Fi connectivity so you could view and save clips via the internet though. I did run into wiring issues to make use of the parking mode feature with one of my vehicles. Vantrue customer support was very helpful in troubleshooting and identifying the issue though.It turns out that if you have a newer vehicle that has Auto Engine Start/Stop Technology you need to install an IGN-3 module and cut brown loop wire in order for parking mode and power to be applied continuously and correctly. I ran into issues where the dash cam would lose power depending on how the auto start/stop interacted with the electrical equipment in my vehicle otherwise. This was in a 2021 Lincoln Nautilus Black Label, so definitely newer tech. Unfortunately, Vantrue does not provide this recommendation for their product and does not offer an alternative but so far it has worked perfectly after having it installed.One of the 3 IGN-3 wires is ran to the car battery, one to the push-button ignition fuse, and 1 to an always on fuse. This allows all features of the cam to work flawlessly. If you don't cut the brown loop wire the IGN-3 only provides 10 seconds of capacitor power during an engine shut off. With the wire cut it provides 140 seconds (2min 20 sec) which is more than enough to cover most city driving and stop lights.I would definitely recommend this setup for anyone that's in the market for a 3-channel dash cam set up because this system records front exterior, interior, and rear exterior of the vehicle with interior audio, battery saver tech, and parking mode so that even when not driving you're covered.

Motion detection didn’t turn on when someone broke into my truck, despite being turned to maximum sensitivity.The mounting bracket lacks freedom-of-movement for optimal positioning, out of my field of vision. The suction cup pops off frequently, despite clean windshield. They offer no permanent or more reliable mounting solutions.I wish they offered side-view cameras that integrate into the same storage chip, instead of the single the rear view. For 360* coverage. Or offer upgrade compatibility.Besides that, it’s a decent system.

All in all, I am thrilled with the Vantrue N4 and accessories. I will be buying more for my other vehicles.It is more than a Dash Cam because it monitors front, back, and inside your vehicle. It can be set to monitor when you are away and your vehicle is vulnerable. This is must have in this day and age of litigation and overzealous law enforcement.The whole setup was easy to install, wire, and operate. I added the Vantrue hardwire kit and GPS mount (I'll review those an Vantrue separately). There is plenty of cable and wire provided for any install. My vehicle is a large SUV and I had cable to spare.Updating the firmware was simple by following the Vantrue instructions.The camera and accessories are well made and show a pride of craftsmanship and well thought design.Reviewing the playback is very easy. You can either remove the camera and attach it to your computer with the provided USB cable or pop out the Micro SD card and insert it in a computer. I used a Samsung 250GB EVO and it works fine.I like the file storage format. The Front, Rear, and Interior views are stored in three separate MP4, that are time stamped and coordinated. If you add the GPS mount, the MP4 will include the located and speed stamp.The images are what you would expect in 4K.The only challenges I would like to see address are the addition of wireless connectivity to the cloud. If someone steals your device, you have lost everything. The only other issue is the locking mechanism on the very robust Front camera mount has a large tab that make installation limited in direction. A ring lock would me better than the large tab. But this thing has the most secure glass mount that I have ever encountered. It is not going to move unless you release it.

I used to have N2 and that went bad. Purchased it 5 years ago and considering the heat and cold in my area suprrised it lasted this long.Camera is 3 and quite easy to install.FRONT FACING: Is a great camera during daytime, night time is also quite nice as long as your headlights are able to laminateINSIDE CABIN: Daytime is is really great and wide enough to get part of the side windows. Night vision with IR is also quite nice.REAR FACING: During the day time runs well, but if you have sun facing it directly, it isn't great, but no camera is going to work if you face the sun. During the Night it is quite uses. Will catch what you have, but no way to identify anything.License plate reader, many cameras show this amazing picture of license plate reader, don't even think about it being your saving grace. Unless if you are parked behind the car then only then you will get the license plate. Else it is mostly a blur.

This N4 dash cam is meeting all of my expectations. I'm using it in a Toyota Prius.Recording: I have it set to record 3 minute clips. I rarely drive longer than an hour in a day. After checking the camera footage several times, I can see that it isn't missing any time. The only time there is a gap is if I've manually clicked on the upper left button on the top of the camera which moves the file into the protected "events" folder. Love that this feature is safe and easy to use while driving.Locating files: The way the files are time stamped makes it very easy to locate the file just before or after an event, should the protected file need more video for context.Camera recording area: I am not using the rear camera at this time. I'm pleased with the cabin camera which records enough out the rear and side windows that I don't think the rear camera is necessary. I'm not as interested in catching a plate number (though the front camera does that very well) as I'm with being able to prove and accident was not my fault.Mounting: So far, the suction cup is holding firmly. I did read in the notes that it should be removed and remounted every few weeks in order to maintain the strong suction to the window. I have not yet made a decision about hardwiring the cables yet, so for not, just using the power plug.Removing the camera from the mount: The first few times I had some colorful words about the design and difficulty removing it. However, after a few days, I noticed it became very easy for me to reach up with my left hand, pinch the exterior-pointing release clip with my index finger and the cabin side of the mount near the camera with my thumb, while using my right hand to slide out the camera. It's very quick and easy for me at this point, so I think it's just something that had to be done a few times for the parts to slide efficiently and for me to figure out the best placement of my thumb and finger.Computer compatibility: I'm using a 2015 Mac Powerbook. The first thing I did before using this dash cam was go to the Vantrue website and download the latest firmware update into my downloads folder. Just leave the file as is. Do not open it. Then I inserted the new SD card into my computer so I could drag-n-drop the update file to it. Remove the SD card, take out the microSD and insert it in the camera, connect the camera to the computer and turn it on. The camera automatically installs the update. Then format the SD card. I'm using the 256GB. It's working flawlessly, even after removing and reinserting multiple times while checking to make sure everything is working properly.Reviewing Footage: Very easy on my Mac. No additional software was needed, though I some some on the Vantrue site that can be downloaded. My Mac opens the mp4 files with Quicktime.Sound: Pretty good. Definitely easy to hear the talking in the car. I didn't realize how hilarious our conversations are (hubby and I) while we are driving until we reviewed the footage after our first use.As mentioned by others, there's no WiFi / Bluetooth. I knew that when I purchased this unit, so I have not deducted anything for not having this feature. I'd rather view the footage on my larger computer screen if needed but can also see there could be benefits to having the choice to connect to the phone for viewing of clips, though if necessary, they can be viewed from the camera itself.I've not used parking mode so cannot comment on that feature. Nor do I have the GPS feature.Definitely happy with this purchase.

The MP4 formats created by this camera will not play with any native video players in Windows 10/11 meaning you HAVE to use the Vantrue app to view any videos which itself is extremely slow in opening or viewing files, even on a high-end late-model Surface Book 3! UPDATE: The slow response out of the Vantrue app appears to be related to video file corruption I'm frequently seeing on the SD card. I'm hesitant to spend another 50 bucks for "Vantrue's" SD card as the one I bought, with all the same specs, is showing corruption issues and it's hard to tell if it's the card or camera...

Almost 5 hours of the ride were lost due to unknown reason. There are 2 folders where the dash cam saves the videos - normal and events. Checked both for the videos recorded during the time period from 01:39 to 06:21, but didn't manage to find them anywhere.The quality of the recorded videos looks good, but if it stops recording just for no reason, it makes no sense to have it in the car.

I thought I would upgrade my wife from a S1 vantrue dash cam and realized this fancy device stopped operating as intended after a few months. It began rebooting multiple times per drive and was not as reliable as the S1. What a waste.

Hello I bought the venture N4 3 channel dash cam less then a yr ago on Vantrue it actually saved me on an accident. While on a trip from Ny to Fl I noticed it stopped working I checked the cables and power source all good. When I touched it to make sure it was plugged in it was extremely hot to the touch i was barely able to touch it. I unplugged it to cool down and now it is inoperable what is the warranty on the item ? How do I get someone to contact me

The Mfgr uses the "night vision" as a key selling point to monitor activity around your car at night (while in parking mode) but it's useless since it doesn't improve the visibility at night outside the car only inside the car. I have $60 wildlife camera that is 100% than the Vantrue dashcam at night. Their customer service is responsive by email but they don't offer technical support. For the $ there's better cameras on the market.

This is a great dash camera. I researched quite a bit and this one has all the features I was looking for. Three cameras, front, interior, and rear. The picture quality from all three cameras is superb. Installation was a snap. I really liked the little tool provided that helps tuck the power cord behind the headliner without marring the paint or hurting the headliner. It took me less than three hours to install the entire system. I also purchased the hardwire kit. I tagged into the cigarette lighter for power. Very easy to do and leaves my lighter open. Navigating the menus ar a breeze. Once you set it up, you can pretty much leave it alone.I highly recommend this dash camera to anyone looking for a high-quality, reasonably priced system that is easy to install.
